Jew-hate is being normalized in the US as well, and fairly rapidly now because it is bipartisan. The far right has always hated them but increasingly the far left does too, for a variety of reasons. At the highest level you have Obama snubbing Israel via the UN as one of his final acts as president, while BLM and other far left groups are frequently aggressive towards Jews for white privelege, manipulation of the hip hop community, friction between insular inner city blacks and insular inner city Jews, the treatment of Palestinians, etc.

So Bob is not far removed from a massive amount of antisemitism and it's entirely possible his descent into supervillainry will include an explicitly anti-Jewish (or at least anti-Zionist) perspective sooner rather than later.
