How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

I wonder what his thoughts were for the first Iron Man 3 or Age of Ultron trailer when it looked like those movies would be darker than previous Marvel Studio movies.

Probably lost his shit. I get the feeling that Bob does not like the media that he consumes changing one iota; Best example would be anything involving Batman. He hates the Nolan films, hates Snyder's films, probably has a hate for the Burton Batmans. I'm fairly certain that he has attacked some of the darker comics. But, he praises the campier, brighter movies and comics, because it harkens back to a better and bright time, before the turn to gritter and darker stories.

Which is bullshit considering how bloodthirsty Batman was in the early stories, breaking criminals' necks and hanging them with his Batplane.

Bob doesn't realize that Batman was always dark and was forced into campiness, not the other way around.

No. It was a dumbass talking point pushed forward by assholes (and the errant troll doing it for a larf).

Interesting side-note, though.

The actual study that was used to prove that "Diversity" was somehow needed in video games was done by DIGRA. This is the one that was pushed relentlessly by almost every one of the "Gamers Are Over" articles, and was used to declare the need for inclusion in video games.

It proved the exact opposite. They then proceeded to claim it proved them right anyway, because a plurality of markets (read: customers can buy and enjoy what they want with different genres and markets for each customer to see) was somehow bad for reasons that it never made clear. That's not hyperbole; you can check for yourself.

As much as I hate playing the "well actually" card, I'm inclined to agree with some of the Angry Nerd criticisms. The past few years, Gamer culture has featured a pretty vocal group of idiots who think they wage some kind of moral crusade against the feminization of their vidya and movies. Most people don't really care if the magic sword person has tits or not, but there have been a good amount of people who think any inclusion of women in the spotlight is somehow a brute-force political statement. Look at all the shit Star Wars gets recently.

It seems weird that Bob is afraid of the idea of superhero franchises getting the R rated treatment.Since he is an adult afterall.I couldn't care less if all superhero movies are R rated i'm old enough to see anything. And in fact some superheroes only trully work as R rated Wolverine is a good example.Of course some other superheroes can work even with a PG rating depending on how good the writing is.But for someone who is an adult whether the movie is R or PG-13 should not matter except for those characters that can only work with certain ratings like Spawn or the Punisher who only work with an R rating.Still i don't see why Bob is afraid of Marvel movies going the R rated route. As an adult he can watch them.

Even before the X-Men series got started, this movie about a Marvel character had an R rating.

R rated superhero movies are rare.Even fewer of those are serious in tone. The closest we had to an ongoing series of R rated superhero movies was Blade.Still i find it weird that there is opposition to the idea of an ongoing series of R rated superhero movies. It actually shouldn't matter how they are rated as long as the movie is good.If the R rating makes the movie better say you have someone like Wolverine who doesn't really fit in a PG-13 world sure.

There's some controversy over R ratings because many people assume superhero movies are for kids. I remember seeing several families walk out of Deadpool because they clearly weren't expecting an adult movie.

Actually, you could. For one thing, it shook up land ownership, as the remaining third of the population ended up inheriting a disproportionate share of resources from those who died. Thus, the survivors within a generation were remarkably prosperous, and fairly financially secure. Additionally, the social upheaval had a shattering effect on people's general outlook on life, and both the infrastructure and respect given to previously near omnipotent institutions like the Church.

With a new worldview and the time and money to pursue these interests, and formerly overwhelming and universal truths like religion at least partly discredited, people actually started innovating and changing at a more rapid pace than in previous centuries.

Arguably, this is part of what set off the Renaissance, starting in Italy and moving from there throughout Europe.

(You can argue pretty much anything.)

You could also argue that the plague killing so many people in effect was the death knell of feudalism, peasants afterwards while still peasant started to get more rights and better living conditions, which as you said led to things like the Renaissance. Let's face it there's what 9 billion people on the planet, if that number was cut in half tomorrow the survivors would benefit in alot of ways, and the planet would a hell of a better off.

There's a lot to suggest that this is absolute bullshit. Numbers do not back that up. RedLetterMedia gave a pretty damned good breakdown of this behavior regarding the 2016 Ghostbusters flick, but this shit has been going on for years:

This is not a unique occurence. GG in general showed nicely that they'd push narratives regardless of the fucking facts involved, and this has never changed. Hell, Women Action Media!'s own investigation showed that of accounts blocked by the likes of GGAutoblocker, less than 0.7% were actually harassment. You'd think numbers like these are isolated, but given how much of a penchant the people spouting the tired "NERDS ARE HARASSING US" memes have been fucking caught lying through their teeth, but you'd be wrong.

Hell, even Brianna Wu got in on that action.

These people lie through their teeth, and they've gotten caught countless times. This is to say nothing of the sheer number of times they got their buddies to false flag on their behalf. Let's not forget the FBI FOIA requests, either, which showed us that the overpowering bulk of the actual harassment that happened during GG was caused by third-party trolls.

All evidence is that while there may certainly be some morons who think that way (lol, Lord Balderdash), it's a tiny minority that's being used to milk a narrative, and nothing more. We're getting a bit off focus, though.

This was only because of the 50s equivalent of SJWs, led by Fredric Wertham, the Anita Sarkeesian of the day, and his book Seduction of the Innocent. Even though it was later exposed as relying on entirely fabricated "evidence" and basically being a fraud, it started a moral panic that ultimately led to the creation of the Comics Code Authority, which kept comics bowdlerized to an infantile level for the next 30 years or so.

This fat fuck wants to repeat that feat.
