The sort of governance Bob craves requires a dictator, whether you call it an Enlightened Council of Elders or a Fuhrer. What he doesn't seem to grasp (or maybe want to admit) is that sooner or later it requires a butcher.

Believe me, Bob would be surpressed and silenced by any of his 'smart people only' governments. Because he doesn't have the education, job or experience to result in the advancement of society.
The problem is that his idea of rulership is one of a technocratic dictatorship or an oligarchy and he is too fucking stupid to recognize this. He's also too incompetent to realize that people aren't just going to accept stripping them of power and go 'gee, while I guess these people know best! I better just let them do it'. He thinks that by disenfranchising some people they're just going to take it and not react at all. They'll react: by killing his stupid fat ass. Its going to cause a vast amount of violence and death, especially if he thinks that taking power away from rural Americans will work. Many of those 'rural Americans' are pretty willing to fight, not to mention have way more arms and ammunition that pseudo-intellectual retards like Bob and ANTIFA. Guess who will fight harder, some half-assed pseduo intellectuals who think they will make a utopia or people fighting for their basic rights as people, who will inevitably be suppressed and persecuted by this new form of government? Hmm. Not to mention just because scientists are smart doesn't meant hey would govern well. Scientists have stayed far away from government for a reason. Good governance is an understanding of human nature, people's needs, empathy and a whole host of other skills which scientists and technocrats just do not have. Look at Soylent, its what happens when technocrats try to create the ultimate food thinking they know better. It kills off all your guy bacteria, is rife with heavy metal toxins, and tastes like shit.
Not to mention a lot of those rural Americans are in police forces, military and local governments. And a lot of them also occupy places in solid blue states, some up to 30-40%. His ideal government would be dead before its founding. It would require purges and violent suppression and more likely than not would involve a very bloody and violent civil war in which the technocrats would inevitably lose. Bob also doesn't realize technocratic governments are inherently fascist by their very nature. The government would be working with the means of production, ensuring certain benefits to certain industries, and would generally be capitalistic. Communism wouldn't result, because you naturally need smarter people over others, so there would be a clear hierarchy who would have different rights and privileges than others, especially over the working class who Bob despises. Nor would it result in a socialist utopia either, because people would need to be suppressed on the basis of their ideas and deprived of natural rights, typically the lowest rungs of society which Socialisim strives to protect.
Bob is a dumb fucking cunt who is too retarded to realize what he's actually advocating for is a fascist form of government. He's also too stupid to realize that a lot of rural Americans voted Trump because they had no other choice. Clinton wasn't going to fight for them, she didn't give a shit about them. So the Democrats forced their hand, even if they didn't like Trump. They were a people striving to be heard, by any means necessary. They are desperate and ignored, committing suicide and turning to drug addiction in droves.
