Bob is living proof media needs "sympathetic" villains.
He was raised on media that almost exclusively had conflicts represented as black and white battles of objective good and objective evil with no nuance (I.E. Super Mario Bros) when life, as normal humans know, isn't so simple.
I hope Far Cry 5 has nuance, America desperately needs entertainment that isn't blatantly saying "republicans are evil".

Weirdly enough this isn't new. A decade ago, Tony Blair found himself under similar criticism. His media men pressured him to buy Gordon Brown a "Mr Whippy" ice cream cone as a sign of political cooperation. Blair didn't want ice cream; he thought the idea was stupid. But the media guys kept pressing him, but warned him not to get a "chocolate log" in his cone because it'd make him look greedy. Out of spite and annoyance, Blair got himself a chocolate log. Pagan Min was a surprisingly nuanced (and entertaining) villain, and saved FC4 from being just another open-world shoot-em-up-with-vague-justifications.
