What's also interesting in that poll is how the Democrats slowly decreased and the current poll indicates the number of Republicans is actually higher than the Democrats. Not to mention the number of people who identified as Republicans stayed largely the same while the Democrats has actually decreased by 7% over a period of about 4 months.
I mean granted the numbers are pretty close to begin with, and a 3 or 4% difference between the two parties in general is very small and almost negligible, but even so there are slightly more people who identify as Republican than as Democrat and the Democrats are actually losing people.
If anything, Bob's beloved liberals are shrinking while the people he hates outnumber them. And he doesn't even realize that not only is it people like him pushing away regular people from the left, but also his side has become the minority, not the Republicans like he's saying.

I do hope the make the villains somewhat sympathetic to piss off Bob and people like him. 
fftopic: There's been a lot of conflict in the western United States between private land owners and the government, since the latter owns so much land (47% in fact), over issues like grazing, water, mining, logging, and other development (most recently this all came to a head with the stand-off between the Feds and the Bundy militia in Oregon). Maybe this militia could be in the former camp and it could make their motivations believable and grounded in reality. Maybe you could even be given a choice between joining them or fighting them. Now THAT would make for an interesting game, though I don't think they'll go that route. fftopic:

The important figure isn't who is registered as a Democrat or just says they're a Democrat, it's who actually shows up to fucking vote. And Republicans consistently show up even in shit like midterms, which is why they usually win them. The Republicans will probably lose some seats in the midterms, but not as many as Obama lost when the people who showed up solely to vote for Obama didn't bother showing up for the midterms.

Unions used to show up too but they were too blue collar to allow to live.

Have them be victims of abuse from a bad father and mother, turned crazy and basically couldn't help themselves. Maybe the main villain is a paranoid schizophrenic and pushed to violence by the relentless abuse he survived as a child. He forms a crazy christian cult with other outcasts in order to 'redeem' himself, but only knows violence through his family.
He was made this way through years of systematic abuse with an illness his family didn't want to understand. His actions basically aren't his own. Maybe he's gathered other mentally fragile people, used his abusive family's manipulative tactics on them. So you're basically fighting mentally ill people, which would be an interesting moral dilemma. You would think they're all crazy, but you only figure out at the end of the game that they're all just sad, broken people under the control of another sad, broken person. It'd have interesting moral dilemmas, how you'd react with your enemy and just that these people were basically abused into this situation. It'd have nothing to do with religion, just humanity, mental illness and all that jazz.
Though then you'd get outrage that you're stigmatizing mentally ill people, but who gives a shit. I also totally wanted to join the villain in Farcry 4. They should have made that DLC.
This is the first time I can remember Unions not going blue. The Dems just fucking kicked them out for rich celebrities. Wonderful.

I want the militia to have nuanced intentions and motives. Not only would it make for a more interesting game but it'd also create more salt.

Lately his feed's been nothing but retweeting people being salty about J.K. Simmons Greg Gianforte body slamming a reporter (Which is fucked up IMHO.) What should be a slam dunk for any normal person is ruined by Bob being the same guy who advocated punching people he disagrees with. Oh, and he manages to ruin Arrested Development:

Here's the thing: Bob is ex-fucking-actly like the Party members in 1984. What becomes acceptable and even heroic when his side does it becomes evil when the other side does the same, and he believes both things at the same time.
