How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

I want honestly know where he gained this bizarre disdain for the common man and love of elites despite not even being one or in the works of becoming one?

I think he's just a total loyalist to the Democrat party and has gone through extensive mental gymnastics to account for them being a decadent organization of rich snobs. This is also why he despises any potential dissenters, IE Bernie.

He also thinks that as an, "American of Intelligence," whatever the fuck that means, he will somehow get him a free pass to sit at the cool kid's table.

I repeat: Yes, Bob is really that fucking stupid.

Bob has an obsession with political "elite" and the Clintons are about as close to that as you can get. There's several tweets of his where he talks about willingly being a pawn because the elites always know better and common men are idiotic.

Oh I know that part already. My question was what HRC brings to the table specifically that Bob finds so captivating... Well besides twinkies that is. Also it is supremely ironic for Bob to be that much of a willing pawn considering his views on Religion.

I couldn't imagine being that devoted and dense to have 100% blind support for a party that likely doesn't give two shits about my concerns. Fortunately, it is folks like Bob that are usually the death kneel for a party as it was the Social Conservative Republicans nearly killed the party before Trump came in and showed them that they aren't going to win for the party anymore.

Bob has literally always been a self-important, holier-than-thou asshole. When he was a kid he was routinely mocked and bullied for it and convinced himself the bullying was motivated by jealousy of his obviously superior mind rather than him just being a caustic dick all the time. But at the same time, he's a masshole who grew up in an extremely liberal environment.

It's hardly a surprise that he'd gravitate to the party supposedly full of altruistic elites rather than the one the culture surrounding him claims is full of emotionless oligarchs and villains.

Guardians 2 isn't The fucking Green Mile Bob, stop acting like it's one of the greatest Tearjerkers ever filmed.

P.S. Lindsay Ellis sucks.

Speaking of being devoted and dense in the face of reality...

There isn't much to know. First 8 seasons were golden thanks to really strong writers, 9 or 10 was when it got wobbly due to said writers leaving and leaving Mike Scully in charge, and then anything after that is unnecessary except maybe the movie and a couple video games. It says a lot that the only interesting things that came out of the current production was the possibility it would be cancelled when there was disagreements with the VA's salaries and when Harry Shearer came close to leaving.

At this point, ending The Simpsons would be a kindness. Hell I'm pretty sure Fox could kill the show and spend the rest of eternity making cash off the merchandising alone. I don't think I could ever get over Bob defending current Simpsons since he's actually been around long enough to remember when the show actually meant something.

Actually Bob's support of current Simpsons makes perfect sense considering that it is hollow, utterly simplistic, worships the ground of fame, and shares his bland political views most of the time. It is bizarre when a show like South Park that has 20 years under its belt arguably got better with age while Simpsons has gotten to the point of being the sick man of comedy.

I can't decide if Bob is an emotional re-tard, or if he's just trying to fake human emotions in a Dexter-ish way. Either way, as much as I liked GotG2, it ain't fuckin' Sophie's Choice. It's not even the end of Charlotte's Web. And no amount of middle-school level analysis is going to change that.

Also, anyone who uses the word "feels" that way in a goddamn headline deserves to be pelted with old, rotten shrimp.

Totally agreed, although I don't think one can call Bob's politics "bland."

Simplest reason in the book: the Clinton cult of personality. Hillary Clinton's entire appeal rests on her husband's shoulders. Left liberals, especially those who work in media, associate the '90s with the "good times" under the auspices of Billy Boy's Presidency, so who would pass up the opportunity to get him back in the White House? They hoped Hillary, tempered with life's experience as a woman in the career world, would be informed by Billy's infinite wisdom to usher us towards an era of prosperity.

Or something like that. I dunno.

For Bobby, the '90s was also the Golden Age of Video Games, so I imagine the association is even stronger.

Mario 3 came out during George H. W. Bush's presidency though. The Clintons didn't come along for another 3 years (5 if you count the Japanese release, 4 if you count The Wizard were Bob first got obsessed). He doesn't care much for gaming outside the NES era outside Mario so Bob should be really pissed that "Jeb!" didn't win if that was the case.

Wow, he's a bigger asshole than I already thought. I can understand apathy towards gaming at the 6th generation's peak (think XBox, PS2 and Gamecube-era), but you'd have to be a severe twat to hate '90s gaming culture.

I don't watch any of his videos, but I am familiar with his Twitter tirades, so forgive me for failing to keep up with his pop culture bullshit.

It's mostly cause after the 80s, Nintendo was no longer the unchallenged leader of the industry. His book has a part in it comparing Sega's arrival as a serious competitor as his Veitnam and it only got worse with Sony popping up and later Microsoft. Something about this causing dudebros and FPS games to forever taint the industry.

That and he believes Mario 3 was the pinnacle of gaming that'd never be surpassed.

But South Park's gotten worse in his eyes due to him thinking that it inspired Trump and the alt-right by mocking both sides and his inability to grasp anyone making fun of his side without thinking they're wrong just because.

Well then, I guess all my female friends that play CoD, Overwatch and Battlefield are just figments of my imagination.

Can we get some tweets from Bob back in the 2012 election cycle, if not 2008? How did he feel about Obama and Hillary back then?

I have a theory on why Bob and Lindsay got teary-eyed over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Short answer: daddy issues.

Long answer: Let's think, Star-Lord lost both of his fathers in the movie. There was his biological father, Ego (who it turns out he was a prick) and Yondu, his adoptive father who took him in and raised him all throughout Star Lord's life.

In the context of the movie, Yondu's death was a sad moment, but since the movie doesn't take itself that seriously, it was not to the point where one would bawl their eyes out...unless you're someone who has daddy issues like MovieBob and (probably) Lindsay who saw themselves in Peter and wished they could kill their bastard father and live with someone like Yondu.

But hey, that's none of my concern.

I remember reading on his blogspot that he didn't want Hillary to win and he either said that he'd rather vote for McCain or McCain would beat the shit outta her or something along those lines
Holy shit really?! Bob used his blogspot instead of posting twitter "threads"? John McCain and Bob Chipman thats an odd combination if there ever was one.

If I'd read those without knowing the author I never would have guessed Bob wrote them. They're so reasonable and well put, there's not really any screeching and he justifies his opinions with fairly sensible reasoning. I wonder what the fuck happened to Bob between '08 and the time around gamergate when he started politisperging.
