If you don't know who he is ... well he's a fucking maniac, for one thing. But more importantly, a dogged reporter with an incredibly acerbic wit and a lifetime of actual journalism experience. No, not everyone's cup of tea -- he's unabashedly and unapologetically right wing -- but he's brilliant at skewering SJWs and has devoted copious, well-researched blog articles (due to be collected into a book) completely dismantling feminism.

Missing what the Jim Carrey movie tried to do. Which was they tried to be a Tex Avery cartoon in live action and for 2 hours. And the movie, regardless of how you feel about the movie, I think nails that idea.

Fun fact: the 1990s Mask movie (the Jim Carrey one) was originally going to be like the comics, in all its violent and gory glory, but the writer (or was it the director?) balked at the idea because he wanted it to be a comedy, not a horror movie. The "Cuban Pete" musical part is the only idea they saved from the original version.

So Bob thinks George W Bush and Trump are not "worthwhile" people who won the presidency over "worthwhile" people like... Al Gore, John Kerry and HRC. Well no one ever said Bob was a good judge of character. This also has what to do with immigration from Mexico exactly?
Speaking of W. my dream is to see him and Trump do some sort of event together. The lefty salt would off the charts.

Eh, the media also tried whitewashing all they said about Bush over the years in their crusade against Trump. He's supposed to be your good old uncle George now who's worried about the path we're on and not Satan incarnate. Dubya's in a weird place when it comes to how "progressives" see him now.

Oh, haha. Dane Cook is not a politician like Trump and Bush is! See, it's interesting that Bob included Dane Cook as "least worthwhile people who found success" because it follows the rule of three and it subverts your expectations by including a comedian with a group of politicians. I get it.

I mean, it's not funny or clever, but I get it.

Theres a pretty easy explanation for that. Dubya was a "Compassionate Conservative" who believed in Christian Democracy and helping the less fortunate. Most relevant to today? His famous softness on Immigration. Unlike Trump he also let the media say whatever they wanted about himself and his polices without really biting back. All of which contrasts quite nicely with Trumps hard nosed Win Win Win take no prisoners ideology. And as You yourself have said a lot of todays Progressives are Conservatives who converted to the church of social justice. Throw it all together and its easy to see why so many Leftists get misty eyed and nostalgic about Bush and his brand of conservatism.
