He's been acting since 2008, not his fault Bob has never heard of him. He's been in As the World Turns for two years in almost 200 episodes. He's mostly acted in TV shows and has little acting presence in movies.

Well there you go. Bob has admitted he doesn't watch a lot of current TV and seems to relish mocking it. I recall him mocking Breaking Bad when Godzilla came out, and it was kind of obvious he never watched it when he said TV couldn't have the same powerful themes as movies or some shit to that effect.

Not to mention Bob has straight up admitted, with great pride I might add, that he's pretty disconnected from a lot of modern pop culture. So if Bob hasn't heard of it, it doesn't matter in his eyes.

Well I had always wondered if they ever intended to follow the comics.

They did, but they thought the movie would be better as a Jim Carrey vehicle (as someone said before), since around that time, Carrey got into movies after doing five years on In Living Color (that FOX sketch show that's pretty much Saturday Night Live if it were 30 minutes long and had more black people in it [there were white people in it and one Asian cast member, but you could count them on one hand]. It also had Jamie Foxx before he became famous).
