So I just got done replaying Bioshock and it got me thinking. Now Bioshock is more known for being a Deconstruction of Objectivism but when you think about it...It works pretty well as a takedown of Bob's ideal society.
Let me explain. The city of Rapture is a society of the Superior Elite. The Artist. The Intellectual. The Inventor. The Innovator. The Captain of Industry. All free to excel. Unburdened by conventional morality or Religion...But "Someone's still gotta scrub the toilets".
This city of the Elite completely falls apart at the seams. Without the Obsolete Inferior Working Class and their Jerbs to keep the place running...Rapture is nothing more than a city of smart people who think of themselves as too good to slum it and do the unpleasant but vital grunt work. The results are...Predictable. Open warfare. ADAM addiction. The complete breakdown of society.
Not to mention that despite being a city of Superior Evolved Elites...The citizens of Rapture are still perfectly capable of Bigotry and Thuggery. Still perfectly capable of giving in to Propaganda, Totalitarianism and Tribalism.
Then again...Rapture is city without an Underclass. Bob's Superior Future is built entirely on having an Underclass to exploit.

Objectivism and what Bob wants aren't too different. Bob's praised some of Ayn Rand's works before, although I doubt he's actually read them. Maybe he saw the shitty Atlas Shrugged movies (which all bombed at the box office), which makes me wonder if he's ever done a review on them. It does have a female protagonist, which Bob approves of.
