Is this motherfucker seriously insinuating that Wakanda is something we should be striving for, or that it's something that doesn't exist solely because of Whitey? Following up his ridiculous orgasm over the black Lord of the Rings / Star Wars / Iron Man, this is next-level :autistic: for him.

I've long thought there are three possible explanations for Bob's essential weirdness.

- The rage-soaked, submoronic, intellectually pretentious Twitter feed is a performance. It's all a character he's created to get clicks. His politics are definitely weird, but he's latched onto leftish stuff to try to make a mark as a firebrand ... partly to fight for the cause, but also just to get noticed. Note he's still an idiot if this is the case, because he fails to see that he becomes a perfect strawman to attack on the basis of lefty assholishness when he goes on and on about the less-than-human, unevolved, superstitious ghouls of flyover country.

- He's a genuinely evil fuck with anger management issues who hasn't gotten arrested by sheer virtue of the fact he rarely leaves his basement lair.

- He's actually mentally disabled in some way -- emotionally, developmentally, psychologically, or some hideous cocktail of all three. Everything is black and white because he is incapable of seeing nuance owing to real dysfunction.

I'm starting to think #3 is the answer. Assuming he's not just polishing Marvel Films' knob (never a safe assumption) and he really thinks this latest popcorn fart of a capeshit flick is the Be-All End-All of Cinema, and it's not solely overcompensating virtue signally for AFRICA MAN: THE MOVIE, then he has the perspective of a child who is dazzled by the latest shiny thing to grab his attention. I never gave much credence to the stories of the web forum of people who believed they could psychically control the universe or the stuff about him believing he's the Chosen One of Nintendo, but I'm really starting to wonder.

Sorry, Dobson keeps retweeting this shit.

Pretty sure this proves he never read the comics.

Bob has now confirmed for us he that thinks a fictional society in a superhero comic book series that has no resemblance even close to anything that actually does exist in reality is somehow something we should base our society around and create.

If there was ever a point before this where asking this question was mean, this statement now allows us to ask it: is Bob literally retarded?

Sorry Blob, but colonialism for as flawed as it was did more to help Africa then hurt it. Even without colonialism, Africa would still be a tribal hellhole where conflict is abundant and few stable regions exist.

If that's what Black Panther was I'd expect a lot more enslaved tribes being sold off to the Arabs.

He's so exceptional that if someone told him that they gave him a ticket (one way) to Wakanda, he would go there immediately.

Again, he thinks he's more insightful than other critics.

Well, this movie certainly isn't overhyped in the least.

Sure Bob, let’s just say it delivers every nerd movie you can think of. Might as well say that halfway through, the movie delivers us “Black Back to the Future” with a little mix of “Black Ghostbusters” and “Black Rick and Morty.”

What does this fat fuck mean by, "speculative fiction?" That is an awfully broad term. Black Panther certainly qualifies as science fiction, but statement should like Bob believes that the film is some sort of alternate history, which is in itself idiotic. The two problems of war and conquest would still exist in Africa as humans are aggressive and territorial by nature, and honestly, it would not be that much different than Europe prior to the age of exploration. It would still be a backwater compared to Eurasian cultures.

To be blunt, it is asinine that anyone could believe that the fictional Wakanda would make such advances in technology without some kind of interaction with the outside world. Europeans learned how to make gunpowder from the Chinese and later applied to make that knowledge to invent firearms. Similarly, it was the Inca who first cultivated corn and potatoes. There is something about the utopian Afro-Futurism of Wakanda that makes me want to say, "Nope. Not suspending my disbelief over this."

I always thought Wakanda worked best as an fictional African analogue of Japan where European interest in Vibranium forced the Wakandan king to modernize his nation similar to the Meiji Restoration as the Europeans gobble up his neighbours. That way Wakanda would have something of a plausible reason for remaining relatively unmolested by trading small amounts of Vibranium to various countries (like the United States, which used it to make Cap's shield) in exchange for technology. But "lol, nope" it had to be a hidden society, which I find to be a cop out as someone who studied history.

The fact Bob is raving about this film worries me. It almost seems as if Black Panther is supposed to appeal to the historically illiterate.

Bob would blow this film no matter, if it appealed to him, or not. Since this thread has well documented how much of a brand whore, and one minded asshole he is. The fact he thinks Feige would one day come to him ,and offer him a position in a marvel studios film is laughable at best.

Maybe not. I mean Feige just got the X-Men back. They may need a Blob for the Brotherhood of Evil, i’m Sorry “Brotherhood of the Right Thinking People Carving The Future”. I mean Bob is about as close as humanly (or whatever he is) possible to an actual comic book villain. The joke is he is incapable of ever realizing it.

It's a fictional comic book written by an old man during the 60's, you're lucky it was as intelligible, intelligent & enlightened as it was.

I'd always thought the Black Panther comics were a throwback to "King Solomon's Mines" and other "Lost World" adventure stories of the Victorian Era. (Of course, such stories were a lot more plausible during a time when travel across Africa could take months or years and the world wasn't nearly as interconnected as it is now.) To Bob and the other SJWs who are slobbering over the Black Panther movie, Wakanda is Magical Negro Land, a place untouched by the evil of the Great White Devil, which seems far more racist to me than the original Lost World novels written by the Victorians. (King Solomon's Mines" for instance, had an African King as one of the main protagonists, and he had the same intelligence and dignity as the white explorer characters. There was even an interracial romance in the story - a pretty Progressive idea for the time.)

Just three times? Talk about a lowball.
