How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Also, they already made a Popeye movie back in the 1980s with Robin Williams. It tanked at the box office (despite not being completely awful - it had charm, talented character actors and impressive art direction.) If they were to make a Popeye movie today, it would probably be low-budget CG, filled with fart jokes, and do about as well as that Woody Woodpecker movie that was made recently. And this is BEFORE it gets crammed with preachy, pro-health boilerplate that no kid has ever wanted to watch, ever.

IIRC Genndy Tartakovsky was supposed to make a Popeye movie that was cancelled in favor of more Hotel Transylvania movies.

Gendy Tartakovsky I recall actually pitched a Popeye film to Sony Pictures, but for whatever reason it didn’t get the green light and they went with The Emoji Movie instead. I can’t speak for Tartakovsky’s recent work since I haven’t seen it, but from what I’ve heard in the Sony leaks, his work would be infinitely more entertaining than whatever Bob has in mind.

Pokemonquistador, I only rated you late because of this.

And actually it was believed that the Emoji Movie killed Popeye.

Turns out it seems that this was coming out in the midst of the Sony Hack and all the other troubles Sony was going through and it ended up dropping between the cracks.

Midnight's Edge has all the details.

Fuck the Emoji movie. It's a perfect example of how intellectually bankrupt Hollywood, and most of the entertainment industry is. A Popeye movie could have had the potential to be really good (Albeit, in this day and age, it would probably turn out like that farside comic where popeye cross dresses. Sauce: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a9Jl1rLPMfs/SNn3e8O2diI/AAAAAAAAAIw/ce94fHcvcw8/s400/Popeye.jpg ) but nope, hollywood had to fuck it up as usual.

Tartakovsky gave us Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory. Bob gives us a pitch for the Care Bears playing Avengers Assemble meets Paradise Lost. If he wasn’t serious, it might make for a half decent sketch on Robot Chicken

To even put the two of them in the same paragraph is a disgrace to Tartakovsky's legacy. Bob shouldn't even be compared to him in a mocking sense.

Didnt the Woody Woodpecker movie only get made because Woody is huge in Mexico?
Woody is REALLY popular in some countries and its old cartoons are still re-run to this day. They even cast a Brazillian actress as one of the leads because of that.
Because they don't believe Americans don't care about Woody these days,it went straight-to-video in North America.

I believe he is huge in Brazil, Speedy Gonzales is actually very popular in Mexico from my understanding
Okay, yeah. We still run the cartoons regularly, on a prime slot on TV, in public access especially [as opposed to locking his shows to cable]. And it's primarily the old, theatrical shorts, rather than the neurotic 90s version that was ultraclean [though that one does have its showings, just that it's not what I'm talking about].

But that doesn't excuse the movie, no.

Bob is acting like a parody of himself for still wanting Hillary to be president.

I thought those that still wanted Hillary to be president have moved on at this point.

At least he's limiting himself to movies when talking about how much he hates the X-men.Although i was under the impression most 'normal' folk usually like the X-men.Not all of them but then again not all MCU movies are great either. So who is Bob preaching to again?

Oh, he's going through the "shit talk books I read in high school because I haven't read books since then" thing that blowhards like him do. I can't wait for his hot takes on Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird. I bet he'll have a lot of new insights that have never been said by thousands of 17 year-olds.

Vote downticket Democrat every time even though I don't believe in ideology. Don't call me out for being a hypocritical shill."

I love that line of thinking because that is what lead to California to become the loonybin with large state financial problems, lead to deep corruption within Chicago, and to the rot of the party in which it still festers to this day. Bob is truly the slave that deludes himself that he is a master, pathetic.

Edit: It is obvious regardless of where your politics lie, that mono-party cities, states, and nations will eventually lead to decline as is evident in states like Alabama and California.

It's nice to know that Bob openly advocates for being a hypocritical shill. Can't wait for him to double down when he gets backlash.

There is a (totally unconfirmed) rumor going around the legal community that John Paul Stevens is basically at the drooling imbecile stage of life (he is 97, leave us not forget) and this op-ed was completely ghostwritten by his daughter Sue. I have no idea if it's true, but I do confess I love the idea of Bob being wholly taken in by a fraudulent op-ed.

Why do I get the feeling his next book will cover the transition in his life from "Mario sperg" to "Diabetic Disney/Democrat shill?"
