It's a vote to legalize abortion up to 12 weeks. It's a big deal that this is getting a vote since even after all the Catholic pedo priest stuff over the last ten years, Ireland is still a very Catholic country.

So as an Irishman, I can safely say that some Bostonian who probably claims to have some drop of Irish blood (protip, don't do that around Irish people IRL) when it suits him can go take a long walk off a short cliff.

He's actually kind of correct (broken clocks and all that) in that Disney/Marvel generally avoids things that would be controversial enough to cross lines in big money international markets like China or the Middle East. The pop culture spergs that endlessly fellate Marvel never want to admit that these movies are made for one reason: speak to the absolute lowest common denominator and make the most money and sell the most merch they possibly can.

Which is complicated if you have to edit characters and story arcs out of films in every country it screens in.

It's not without precedent. The Ghostbusters remake was apparently not screened in China because, as Mike Stoklasa eloquently put it "The Chinese think it's witchcraft."
