At least you confirmed that The Escapist canned your fat ass.

I'm amazed every company doesn't give their employees pamphlets telling them not to pull their employers into their personal politics.

It really makes me wonder what Bob's going to do after his youtube audience dwindles and his Patreon funds dry up. Even if a future employer is willing to overlook his stint with the Escapist, it'll only be a matter of time before he makes his political views known.

His youtube audience already has dwindled, look at his social blade. His sub count is not growing at all, he's got shit views, and he only earns an estimated 710 a month at BEST.

He does make a lot on patreon, like 4.5 grand, which is roughly 54 to 55 thousand a year before taxes. Let's assume that Patreon is his only income (From what people say, review sites pay peanuts anyway), he really is on life support with patreon. He is fucked if his patreon dries up (Which it will, as this mindset of moviebob's is getting more unpopular by the day)

He's probably making nothing on YouTube. When you take into account the entire ad crisis that began on YouTube back in 2017, he's likely having no ads run on his videos. That affected everyone, especially small channels that YouTube doesn't give a shit about like Bob's.

It's also worth pointing out just how exceptional Bob Chipman is at running a YouTube channel: he managed to score himself a D- as a total grade on social blade. You may not be shocked at that as that's what's expected from Bob at this point, but bare in mind that I've never seen a channel with that low of a grade before. I've never seen a channel receive a grade from social blade that is that low, and that includes channels that are literally hemorrhaging subscribers and losing views by the thousands. Even low view, small channels manage to score in the C range or a low B at best. Bob scores a low D.

And I hate to say it, but the only way his Patreon is going to die off is if Patreon itself shuts it down. Looking at some fan comments on it, his patron's are some of the most kiss ass and blinded individuals on the internet. These people wouldn't pull their money from his Patreon if he literally committed a terrorist act.

Making a three part video that is four hours long on a movie that is three hours long isn't quality content, but a problem. A movie review should ALWAYS take less time than the movie because if the review is longer than the movie, then you are wasting my time.

Which is funny if you remember his review of Man of Steel.

While he never claims it is a flawless movie and he does criticize quite a bit from it, at the end of the video he flat out says "this is not a bad movie" and claims it is a "must see" movie, despite its flaws.

It was only after the massive fan backlash against it that he turned on his heels to condemn the movie. Before that, he was perfectly okay with the film and said he was looking forward to the sequel.

Most employers probably take it for granted that they don't need to tell their new hires to not sperg out on a public forum. That will change soon.

I don't think you should genrally be fired for personal online media bitching. I personally don't think it's your boss' business that you drunkendly shit-post that you hate your job on saturday night. That said it's clear in Bob and Price's cases their's more going on. Both have a long history of toxic behavoir, their conduct directly relates to customer and neither backed down despite the chance to do so.
Considering their deeply toxic personalities I suspect in both cases were the straw which broke the camels back.
Call centre employee's can't get away with calling the customers retards and the call centre call takers get paid fuck all to talk to people who are angry that they didnt read their contract. What makes these people think their cushy jobs are bulletproof?

What I don't get about the Guild Wars 2 thing is that in retail, if you badmouth the customer to their face, they can get you fired. If you work in the public sector in general, you can't shit-talk your customers unless it's behind closed doors. Why are people surprised when the games industry follows the same rules as the public sector?

Besides, it wasn't even a sexist firing, a dude got fired too and he had even less of a role in that stuff.

Yeah, Bob, those red state ghouls are really going to decline what with their... 3+ kids to your 0.

"Natural selection, how do it work?"

As Gold Ribbon Shit-talker R.S. McCain pointed out, for someone who fetishizes evolution, Bob sure doesn't seem likely to participate in its fundamental element: reproduction.

I wonder what it is about some people that makes them believe a company should just go "No, fuck YOU!" to their customers anytime one of their unhinged employees pulls some shit

At a guess, a total lack of familiarity with how business, commerce, or the real world in general actually work.
