Well, I’m starting to wonder if he actually has that mentality in regards to major studios struggling against Disney’s dominant box office control? "We shouldn't have any borders!" is....probably the farthest thing from an intellectual opinion on borders. Not even factoring Bob's idea that this will favor deep thinkers and lead to an even more intellectual society.

It’s really about as nuanced as all of his other beliefs - that is to say, not at all. It’s such a thoroughly asinine position and Bob holds it simply because he believes it’s the “right side of history” thing to believe. The truth (that Bob simply cannot handle) is that the “champions of virtue and progressiveness” he worships wish to abuse these vulnerable illegal immigrants for cheap labor and need them to stay illegal. Outside of his ST: TNG fantasies I really don’t see how bob thinks this would be net gain for literally anyone. There’s only so much land, money and jobs.

A nuanced and intelligent opinion would be something along the lines of: “we need to work to secure our border as a matter of national security in order to prevent human and drug trafficking from flowing into our country, and also work to improve our flawed immigration system that overwhelmingly benefits those with money and prestige.” Of course this would include “also still deporting people who are entering/staying in the country illegally” but that’s problematic or some shit for some reason.

Knowing Bob, Im gong to guess he leans heavily in the direction of pushing the other major studios out even if they do try to compete. Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't he also sore about younger "critics" who are more popular/affable than he is because of some kind of gatekeeper mentality?

I'd give you a horrifying rating for that statement if I could. If Bob essentially wishes for the Midwest to be nuked out of one side of his mouth, and for immigrants to move there out the other, does that mean that if Bob had the power he would basically advocate for ethnic cleansing on his "beloved pee-oh-cee"?
