I know it is done to death, but damn could you easily edit in Jews and the genocidal tone is really set in there as there isn't any sense of hyperbole in this tweet.
Nonsense! Libel and slander! Ban that guy from Twitter!

If you think Game of Thrones is "near-satiric", then I have some questions for you.

Their are some subtle satirical overtones to certain characters which is a lot more emphasised in the books. The honerable Ned stark finds himself outmanouvered, the dark lord Tywin being a pretty good administrator or the fact Cersai's such an evil crazy bitch that she's a terrible leader. The most obvious case being Book/season 1-2 Disney princess Sansa's naive presumptions....which are not played for laughs incidently.

The main satirical streak is that the setting removes the nostalgia for the feudal system in fantasy and revels in the brutal realities of such a world. The show downplays this because the show runners arnt as good at it as george. Then again Bobs pretty stupid so he probably doesnt get the main concept of GoT is "fantasy setting but with realisticly portrayed people.", considering his autocratic streak aspects about Westeros might actually appeal to him since the only time the people really make their will felt is with the High sparrow who he wouldnt be able to relate to due to being religious and homophobic.

What exactly "went wrong" with Disenchantment? It's a Matt Groening show so a slow first season is basically mandated.

Anyways, I don't think it has been played for laughs much. I think the whole thing is the result of people mixing up terms like atheist, agnostic, and whatever Bruce Wayne actually is where he knows gods but "It doesn't matter" to him

I could swear there's a word for that - "aolatry" or something, meaning "does not worship." Can't find it on the internet so maybe I'm wrong.

I've always been fond of apatheist.

It went out of its way to mock sjws and sjw culture, and so Bob is trying to hate on it without appearing to be butthurt. Much like he did when South Park did the same. He knows if he acts all ragey, people will side with Groening. But if he fakes being calm and rational while playing the "this kind of thing just doesnt work like it used to," he might be able to fool some people into avoiding it.

Oh, does Disenchantment do that? Shame, I hated the trailer. Now I have to give it a look. *Dobsonian sigh*
