Twitter is absolute fucking cancer and will lead to the destruction of society, I wasn't aware that Josh was a socjus type, but as long as it's out of RLM videos than all is good

The only thing twitter is good for imo is shitposting, and that makes it more fun than facebook at least. Though trying to debate on twitter is retarded.

Mike made a joke about Antifa rioting or something in the latest Plinkett review, so rest assured he isn't one.

Longstanding rumor has it Mike is a hardcore rightwinger. He's from Arizona, home of Barry Goldwater, so it's at least plausible.

I don't know where they all sit politically, but my suspicion is there are a lot of diverging opinions on that crew, so they just don't get into it as much to maintain harmony as to not alienate their audience (also, I'm betting all of them care a lot more about their work than their politics).

Bob? You could learn more than lighting and cinematography from these guys.

I dunno. Most hardcore right wingers hated The Force Awakens yet RLM was one of the places that sucked the movie's dick the way people are the last jedi now. They did it so fiercely that Doug's review of TFA came off less biased and more critical. I'm not just saying that in regards to myself. Many on /tv/ had that reaction too.

If Mike is a hardcore right winger he's pretty good at hiding his power level then.

You can't convince me that Andrew Dobson isn't ghostwriting some of these tweets.

Even after the trainwreck of The Last Jedi, I still maintain TFA wasn't bad -- just hollow and warmed over. It's a fine enough popcorn flick, so I don't take issue with their review. The Last Jedi was so bad I also no longer care what happens, so it's ultimately a pointless movie.

If you're on the right, and in the entertainment industry, hiding your beliefs is a crucial skill until you have "fuck you" money and influence. I mean Jesus, look what Bob gets away with. If he was on the right, Twitter would have shitcanned him years ago and The Escapist wouldn't be touching him with a 10' shit-covered stick.

Who looks at the Sistine Chapel and thinks, "Yep, that's what the Avengers was like hundreds of years ago"?

And just to add to the absurdity, you might be able to point to the Quest for the Golden Fleece as an honest-to-the-Gods crossover event. Everyone shows up, even Hercules although he leaves early because he'd break the story because he's totally OP.

I still think TFA is bad, but that's because it comes off like JJ Abrams pulled a fanfic off fanfiction.net and thought that it'd make for a good star wars movie. Maybe the EU is overglorified fanfiction, but I can't deny that most of it is written better than the Disney Wars films.

Also you're right. I've seen most Hollywood conservatives come out and say how hard it is to hide their beliefs in a industry dominated with liberal SJW types. Still I figured RLM would be the kinda dudes that wouldn't give a fuck about stating exactly what they think regardless of politics since they're not really in Hollywood, but I can understand if sometimes even youtubers have to hide their shit so as not to have their reputations ruined by retards.

Huh... If Bob was on the right I wonder if he would be one of those Hitler did nothing wrong types.

Keep in mind before the Plinkett Phantom Menace review went viral, Mike and Jay (not sure about the others) made their bread and butter doing camera work for small films. And now, Milwaukee shitlords or not, they interact on a fairly regular basis with guys like Patton Oswalt. Even Soyboy Extraordinaire Rian Johnson said something about "liking but fearing" them before he went all Veruca Salt on their TLJ review. Ultimately, though, I think they just care more about making funny shit than being the 10,000,000th ignorant moron to offer a right-wing or left-wing hot take.

I can't imagine a right wing Bob defending Hitler, but who knows? I can totally see him buying into various Jewish banking conspiracy theories and talking about how blacks are genetically proven to be less intelligent, though.

Sincere question: is it possible to be a Bob fan and to be unaware of his Twitter lunacy? For instance, I follow Red Letter Media religiously but never go near any of their Twitter feeds, because I avoid Twitter like a plate of bad clams. I didn't know Josh the Wizard was a pretty hardline SJW until someone pointed it out here. Does he keep his politics relatively out of his videos? I mean, I'm sure you can tell he's anti-Trump, but does he get into the whole "subhuman" nonsense?

Fuck no he doesn't. For a great encapsulation, check out Sargon's video covering him (which, fittingly, has more views than any of Bob's clips):

I know people considered them better than Doug and Friends as well as most other film critics or reviewers, but I didn't know they were in that deep. I don't know much about RLM outside of their videos. I just thought people saw them as the least autistic and thus the most respectable option on youtube. So yeah I can see why it would be important for them to hide their politics then. Makes sense.

lol I imagine Bob would be a Holocaust denier. He'd probably argue the Jews built Auschwitz as well.

TFA was just a mediocre lukewarm film, I enjoyed a couple scenes from it, last jedi actually killed any real interest I had in star wars to be honest.

I think they are smart enough guys to recognize that having a bunch of polarizing political opinions can lead to unnecessary bullshit going on, and cause damage to Red Letter Media in the long run

It could also be that RLM wants their work to last - and avoiding politics is one of the best ways of doing that.

As for Bob's whole "comics have always been political..."

Yes let's go back to that, shall we? Yellow skinned-pointed teeth japanese and all?

Or you know... maybe learn and realize why most of these are considered jokes nowadays and not classical stories regularly referenced by modern canon.
