Under "nationalism" we put a man on the moon, and it was planned to be the first step towards going outwards into the solar system.
Under "globalism" we're struggling along side one of our greatest enemies to keep some people in a leaky tin can in low earth orbit for no particular reason. We have to ask for fucking rides up there from them. We've literally become that friend who has to bum rides from everyone.
Under "nationalism" we drove one of our strongest enemies into the ground financially, causing their nation to literally shatter into pieces. Without any real open warfare at all.
Under "globalism" the entire damned planet is getting bullied by the broken remnants of said nation, along with a collection of insane third-world pisspots.
I mean, I realize it's more complex than that, but... Globalism doesn't sell itself well.
