"false assumptions about universal humanity"

Getting more and more hateful by the day, I see.

"you were right as a kid when you thought some people were irredeemably, worthlessly BAD"

I don't think hating other people and considering them to be irredeemable monsters is something everyone did as a kid, Bob. More likely, you were simply always a hateful, bitter and angry person and just assume that everyone else is the same.

I disagree. The ranked voting you describe could work in that it would prevent the spoiler effect or people changing their vote for strategic reasons. Bob wants there to be nothing except a 100% democrat dictatorship with elections just for show.

I put no fuckery past Bob at this point; his beliefs are transparently tyrannical and hate-filled. But "ranked choice" is a real thing with a real definition. I suppose until he elaborates on it (and what a great platform Twitter is for thoughtful, informative argument, huh?), either explanation is entirely possible.

I have to say Bob's opinions on Super Mario Bros 3 are stupid mainly because of how he treats the game like the holy grail and the lengths he went to worship it:

  • Considers it as impactful as the JFK assassination
  • Believed each level was like a warzone
  • Wrote a book analyzing the game like it was a groundbreaking game that can not be topped
  • Abandoned his grandma's funeral to play this game

The funny thing is, you have a Mario game like Super Mario 64 that was truly innovative and changed the face of gaming forever. You could easily make an argument for how groundbreaking of a game it was. But Bob decides to instead pick one of the Mario games that came before it, likely only because it was the big game that was out when he was a kid.

SMB3 might of been super popular, but it wasn't in anyway innovative like 64 was.

Mass Effect. For a game series he's never played, he has very strong opinions about it, and believes he's more of an authority on the story and themes than people who played the entire series because he watched the ending on YouTube.
I never played Mass Effect either but I wouldn’t have a opinion on a game I haven’t played just because I watch videos of it on YouTube and read reviews.

Okay. A bit :powerlevel:, but the first game I played that really made me realize I was a gamer was Spyro the Dragon. I'd played games before, but this was the one that really hooked me. It's my SMB3, if you will. Difference between me an Bob is I don't think gaming stopped at Spyro. I'll go back and play the original trilogy all the time and enjoy myself the whole time. But I admit as much as I love that game, it's a product of its time and games have gotten better since. While I love that trilogy, I dont think gaming should have stagnated in that era forever.

I wonder what that "real work" is....

Bob doesn't know who PewDiePie is, does he?

I don't watch PewDiePie, but even I know he dropped the "overact to horror games" shtick years ago. I think the current "meme" is that an Indiana music label is about to take over him as the most subscribed YouTube channel so PewDiePie, Markiplier, and various other YouTubers are milking it for laughs.

Then in walks old man Bob talking about "the establishment" and "real work" and completely missing the point. I get the feeling that Bob only hates PewDiePie because the mainstream media told him "YouTube man bad".

My first love was The Bard's Tale, and I'm perfectly willing to say it's so antique it's basically unplayable, even on an emulator. (The remaster is another story, though.)

EDIT: Never comment before reading everything. Regarding his latest dribbles on Twitter:

1. He clearly has no idea who Kurt Schlichter is. The man is a combat veteran and writes Bob into the ground on a daily basis ... actually, maybe he does know who he is. Envy, spite, and resentment make a helluva drug.

2. You know who else was arguably fired by Disney for being a jackass online, Bob? It's still part of your handle.

for my own first love as a game, it was probably a mario game as well. Paper mario 2, the thousand year door. I got pretty far in trying to beat it several times but never could and it was the first non licensed, non shovelware, nonmobile game I really sank many hours into playing

Don't forget that hes also far more popular and successful than Bob and at a younger age too.

Moviebob is the reason Mario fans need to be bullied more often.

what about solidmario? I also remember weegee was writing up a lolcow wiki artcile on a different mario fantard. Seems to me when Mario or any nintendo series has a exceptional fan, they really go off the rails

To elaborate more on Bob's Mass Effect sperging....
Back when Retake Mass Effect was a thing, christ thats getting close to seven years ago now:feels:, Bob had to give his little hot takes and thus developed a raging hate boner for Retake Mass Effect.
Bob as already stated had never played a Mass Effect game, had never shown any interest in the games, and probably didn't even know they existed before the hashtag popped onto the trending list.
In fact Bob's only experience with the games would be watching one of 3's infamous endings on youtube.
Nevertheless Bob being Bob felt compelled to wade into the shitstorm.
Now Bob being Bob took Bioware's side of course because Retake Mass Effect was essentially the consumer/plebs vs. the creator/artist and we all know who ranks higher in Bob's worldview.
I'm sure you can all imagine the :autism: that followed.
That is so fucking dumb that I can't even top that if I even tried. I fully expect Bob to say that Sun Tzu's Art of War is a guide about peace.
:offtopic:Halo sperging...
Even if the Covenant were supposed to represent Diversity and Multiculturalism they would be a really negative depiction of such.
Several species of the Covenant are out and out slave races, all the species more or less hate each other, and eventually the Covenant break apart into a Civil war and they start trying to genocide each other.
Bob would know this if he even did the most basic research but skimming a Wikipedia article is beneath Bob.

he considers sucking The Mouses dick because they bought Marvel a real job.

Speaking of which, I don't see the point for Bob in keeping the #RehireJamesGunn. I mean, he hasn't sperg about it since August and everyone has moved on from it.

Besides, Gunn hasn't been exiled like Kevin Spacey or Harvey Weinstein. DC snagged him for Suicide Squad 2, and that wasn't even very long after Disney canned him.
