Imagine my shock. Bob is completely clueless of the fact the US military has bases in many red states. Hell, look at how many ICBM silos are in Montana, the Dakotas and elsewhere in the Midwest. Offutt Air Base, the HQ of Strategic Air Command, is near Omaha, Nebraska. Air Force Global Strike Command is at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. That is not including major army bases such as Fort Hood in Texas.

The (hypothetical) Second American Civil War is nothing going to go down as he would like it to.

Minnesota usually goes reliably blue when it comes to presidential elections because of two big blue areas: the Iron Range (filled with old school labor democrats,) and Hennepin County (filled with black people, limousine liberal whiteys, and Somalians.) Here's a tree map of the popular vote by county:

Outside of the urban areas, every other county in the state is as red as Bob's politics. Also, Democratic support in this state visibly dropped to the point where it was, for a brief time, a toss-up as to whether Hillary would win the state on Election Night.

No need to speculate what will happen to the major cities in the event of a Civil War. We've already seen it happen to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Everyone who can drive out of the cities will do so, leaving the poor rabble to fend for themselves. What will make things interesting is that there won't be a deadly flood forcing said rabble to remain in their homes and they'll take to the highways at some point unless the military starts airlifting food into the cities. The military was the only thing that was able to restore order to LA after the 1992 riots and it took them 6 days to do it. Basically, in a SHTF scenario, the only thing that would separate Bob and his ilk from Certain Doom would be the US Military, and if they decide to side with Trump, then those with TDS will have no choice but to bend the knee to him.

A second American civil war would be one of the deadliest wars in human history, with a real possibility of eclipsing ww2 for total death count.

I imagine the worst case scenario for big cities during a civil war would be something like "The Division" (Minus the virus part), albeit it would end much quicker since the US Military doesn't fuck around..

Yeah, big cities would be pretty fucked. You know what would be the scariest shit? If the plumbing all across the city stopped working in a place like NYC.. The build up of methane would be unreal and could be devastating to the entire city. One errant match light or spark and you would have one hell of an explosion.
