Basically, Bob's hateful, self-flattering Manicheism fails to recognize that if you place mainstream positions and concerns in the camp of "literal Nazis," "people who don't matter," and "the dumbfucks," then -- surprise, surprise! -- perfectly normal, nice, reasonable people will turn to the literal Nazis, people who don't matter, and dumbfucks because you've given them nowhere else to go. This limited, unimaginative, black and white view of the world has been a key component of the Thing What Am Bob since he was a wee lad, apparently. Strangely unmentioned on this thread (so far as I can tell, so correct me if I'm wrong -- I got it from his ED page) is the AOL website he maintained when he was 15, "MSTMario." Take this actual line Bob wrote as a kid and see if you can distinguish the thinking, or lack thereof, from how he bloviates now, absent the flowery language often missing its connotations:

It never ceases to amaze me how an almost 40 year-old man can be such a petulant child. If anything, he's the one throwing a temper tantrum that's been ongoing since November 9, 2016 over the fact that he can't handle his fellow countrymen not espousing his coastal, big-city neoliberalism. Take away the hoverhand and the picture of him with Anita Sarkeesian really isnt bad for a guy of his size. A lot of his awful appearance is down to him dressing like a refugee from a home for trainables.

The film heavily borrows from the New 52/Rebirth version of the character, but with its own unique spin. As for why Bob is hyped up about a DCEU film, I would hazard a guess and say that it's tonally similar The Goonies, Ghostbusters (which he references), and essentially any Amblin film from the eighties and we know how Bob loves that decade.
