....translation standards for anime were lower in general back then.
I seem to recall the show used "danpire."
Translation is an uncertain art and this has been translated many times.

Which begs the question of how shit is the Boston Public Education system and Salem College are?
Bob is pretty smug about the fact that he didn't pay attention in school/was smarter than all his teachers. As @Mola Ram said, it doesn't matter how a good a school he went to if he was simply going to sneer and revel in his delusions about being the most intelligent person in the room.
Well I believe the quote goes that "A wise man knoweth himself to be a fool, and a fool thinks of himself wise." I know The Bard is overused, but hot damn is it so applicable to Bob.
I bite my thumb at him.
It's pretty surreal to read lolcow autism that's older than yourself, especially with Bob always pulling the "Obsoletes" gimmick. I know this can count as bragging but it puts things in perspective when I could be conceived and grow into adulthood relatively close to starting a home of my own and in the same timeframe, Bob has just been some unchanging eternal blob.To be fair, Bob was 15 when he wrote this. Not that he's changed all that much.
Does Bob legit think hippies are still a factor
You mean, you can't ruin how superior minds think! It wouldn't make any difference if Bob went to Salem College or a legacy Harvard admission with post-grad work at Oxford. You can't educate the ineducable.
I think it was "dunpeal" in the version I watched. Gotta love the r/l switch.I seem to recall the show used "danpire."

Well to be fair, the Bard snagged it from The Bible, making this trope Older Than Dirt, but yeah, it fits Bob to a T. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools". Dobson has this exact syndrome and it seems to be a recurring disease among east (and west) coast quasi pseudo woke intellectuals.Well I believe the quote goes that "A wise man knoweth himself to be a fool, and a fool thinks of himself wise." I know The Bard is overused, but hot damn is it so applicable to Bob.
And a update on his diabetes.

"The term 'reversal' is used when people can go off medication but still must engage in a lifestyle program in order to stay off," says Ann Albright, PhD, RD. She's the director of diabetes translation at the CDC.
He still looks fat. It’s hard for him to not eat at McDonalds apparently.Wonky terminology that Bob himself is doing nothing to bring clarity to.
A simple search on webmd reveals that 'reversal' isn't really anything like remission:
So, 'entering reversal' likely means that they're changing his medication or trialling him on a lesser dose, moving towards taking him off altogether. He'll still have to manage his diet and exercise to avoid the effects of the condition.
Additionally, he's being obtuse about the testing procedure. They're testing his blood sugar levels and so long as it stays within an acceptable level he will stay off medication. Talking about cures and remission is just muddying the water.
It means he hasn't eaten his cookies yet so his sugar is lower than usual. How are you "entering" reversal? You either reversed it or you haven't.
Tim, Just do better.
The real reason why Bob and the transperson are salty about Night in the Woods is because the developers did something that they are incapable of doing: created something that people love. I haven't played it myself, but looking at it, it appears to be one of those quirky indie creations that will inspire a lot of young people to pursue a path in game design. Can those two make a similar claim of themselves? That they inspire anything other than Internet outrage? My favorite thing is the embedded tweet from the transperson bragging about their mental instability and how they "haven't won a game Oscar" and "don't have a steady income." It"s always an effective strategy to try to shame people with things they earned.Opinion: Movie Bob, Arthur Chu, and the Bullying of an Indie Dev

Never really knew about this. Though then again, never really followed Bob all that closely.
