You could have the new ghostface be a disgruntled horror fan who’s disappointed in the genre as a whole wth where it stands in the modern era who decides to use the old ghostface killings to make their own real life horror story and attempts to make it as serious and terrifying as they possibly can. And instead of phones have them use various chatting and calling apps to harass their victims before they go in for the kill.
