When the new wave of internet feminism gained traction around 2010 or so, there was a lot of "sex positive" rhetoric, including trying to put an end to "slut shaming". Maybe kink shaming isn't the right term, but the idea was that women shouldn't be judged negatively because of their sexual history. If they want fuck a dozen guys a month that's their choice. It's obviously hypocritical to then judge men for their lack of sexual history.

I'm not sure when the social validation stuff happened. I'd guess it was around the time pick-up artists started getting popular, or when "nice guy" communities started to appear.

I rarely hear about those things now. Feminism has moved on to #MeToo, Trans issues, and Trump.

I think it's simpler than that. Lefties stopped calling people virgin under the blanket umbrella of "kink shaming". It also fell against their narrative that men shouldn't rely on sex with women for social validation.

Lefties constantly explicitly attack people for allegedly being unattractive to women though. Elizabeth Warren did it recently in a speech lmao. Society and Feminism occur in cycles. I think most of the current hysteria that Feminist women (and LGBTQ's have to an extent) about "being accepted and celebrated" has more to do with the increase of the negative effects of recent Liberalism. Giving jobs to foreigners, demonizing Whitey, sending drag queens to teach Farmer Joe's kids about Transitioning at Age 7, declaring entire swaths of the country as primitive no-go zones because their supermarkets don't have avocado bars, etc. All of this generates pressure on and resentment in the non-Liberal parts of the population. Radical leftists can sense this hostility and respond with hostility of their own. The recent Trump election just threw a little grease on that fire.
