Too Long; Refuse to Watch. Any chance of his top 10 as a list friendo?

He starts by saying Endgame isn't on it because it's not a top 15 list, Irishman isn't on because "It's just not. It's was great just wouldn't have made my list because it just didn't really grab me the way some other stuff did. Same basic answer for Star Wars (rise of skywalker)." And Joker isn't on it because "It isn't actually that good and in a couple of years you'll figure that out too." Also he compares it to The Boondock Saints calling it a "Super edgy but ultimately shallow movie" that doesn't hold up at all.

10. Parasite
9. The Wandering Earth (From china of course)
8. Knives Out
7. Uncut Gems
6. The Lighthouse
5. Shazam
4. Ford v Farrari
3. Little Women
2. Doctor Sleep
1. Godzilla King of Monsters

And here's the videos archived for posterity.

I love how Bob assumes that this woman's daughter deserves to be making more than 48 grand a year without knowing anything about what degree she has or where she got said degree.

Everyone should be paid based on how long they spend in college rather than based on the value of what they learned. Clearly incentivizing people to spend enormous amounts of time in college learning literally nothing of value is how you build an effective economic system.

Incidentally: Only 12 countries have an average annual wage over 48 thousand dollars. So this woman is right now, at this very moment, making more money than 95% of humanity and this isn't enough because she spent a lot of time in college and therefore unequivocally deserves to be making...I don't know, 70K or something. She's making 5 thousand dollars a year more than the average Frenchman relatively early in her career, but we all know that she definitely should be making tens of thousands of dollars more than that because she has made the proper sacrifices at the altar of academia.

Bob literally has no idea what this girl studied, what her job is, or what the economics of the industry she works in are like and he just assumes she deserves more than 48 grand a year based solely on time spent in college. This is fucking cargo cult economics.

And because I hate myself, here's his "The Movies of the Decade" list. He said at the beginning that he didn't mean this to be strictly movies he personally enjoyed or movies he saw were "culturally important", so it's a mix of the two.

11. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (Only the first 4-5 minutes)
10. The Tree of Life
9. The 13th
8. Spider-man into the Spiderverse
7. Black Panther
6. Shin Godzilla
5. Mad Max Fury Road
4. Carol
3. Get Out
2. Star Wars: The Last Jedi
1. The Avengers

If everything is inherently political, then why does he like going "It's not about anything!" whenever Joker comes up?

I swear, everyone who ever takes the "inherently political" stance doesn't understand what inherent means and keep describing things that require human perception or act like it's impossible for someone to imagine concepts without their personal views.

What they're really saying is "Everyone has political biases and some of that is bound to show in the art they make, even if they try to stay neutral, which is why all art should exclusively be propaganda for the things I believe in."

I am shocked he included SHAZAM! but not Captain Marvel.

I love that smoothbrained Bobby had to put a Terrence Malik film in there to pretend he's smarter than he really is when it's pretty much all brainless noise festivals other than Tree of Life. Also Tree of Life is shit, most Malik movies are pretentious shit.

Like shit man, he's so obvious when he plagiarizes others words and then pretends he's seen them too.

Good Lord, look at those dead eyes. If I wasn't aware of Bob's venomous hatred towards people who disagree with him slightly, I would feel sorry for him taking his death march into the new decade

Do you think he's so depressed because he knows he won't be able to ring in the new year by tweeting, and instead might have to notice that he's in shouting distance of other people and not kissing a girl at midnight?

tfw even Bob "The Moviebob" Chipman no longer feels the need to to defend your movie...

Thin Red Line was pretty good though. Unsurprisingly, Last Jedi is number two.

Only Bob can get so much wrong in one sentence.
- Flipping burgers isn't back breaking.
- Minimum wage will never be a living wage.
- No, these aren't "only" starter jobs for teens, they are also for illegal immigrants that these companies can pay less then minimum wage to do.
- If minimum wage work is increasingly becoming the backbone of an evolving post-industrial economy, that should be throwing up warning flags.

I don't agree Avengers should be #1 but it is significant in the sense that it marked the turning point in which the novelty of good capeshit movies started to wear out its welcome. You can give credit to the movie for actually making the ensemble and build worthwhile, but that's going to be the benchmark everything else the comes after will be following to varying degrees of success.

Does this count as Blobs endorsement of Warren or is he just mindlessly towing the party line as always?
Translation of this Tweet: "Any Democrat candidate would have done the exact same thing, but Orange Man did it so listen to us tell you why it's bad so you can harbor the delusion that electing a Democrat will stop this sort of thing, just like people did when they voted for Obummer to replace Dubya."
