Robert can be creative the same way Tommy Wiseau was creative when he made The Room. He's made things so batshit and bad, they're hilarious. Brick By Brick is fascinating and very funny for all the wrong reasons, and we keep bringing it up to this day because of the impact his autism and lunacy in it made.

Wiseau is a lot more humble and resilient than Robert though. When people laughed at his shit, he rolled with it and kept at it. Like you said, Robert's fragile ego can't handle people laughing at him, so now he plays it safe and his work is still as shitty as ever, but far less interesting, amusing, and original.

Methinks I confused "creativity" for "originality" in this instance, and I was going to comment on his laziness because it does show in his elevator pitches. One of Bob's critical (no pun intended) flaws is his constant need for validation, especially from those he wants to impress with his simping for Naomi Wu and his embracing of Democratic talking points despite sounding like a Randroid. He views himself as the hero of the story and wants recognition for it whether he deserves it not (he doesn't.) We are all aware of how unpleasant Bob can be if you do not agree with him or if you call him out on his stupidity.

The Game Overthinker is a testament to Bob's self-indulgence as he fancied himself as the "hero." Had it been a fan fiction, he would have been the self-insert and don't get me wrong: SIs can work as characters, but it takes self-awareness and skill to successfully pull off. Neither of which Bob possesses. As such, he comes off as a self-parody rather than a genuine character, especially when he went on that rant in the series finale. Bob sees himself as an intellectual titan and moral paragon that does not to go on a journey of self-realization...

...and Jesus Christ, Bob! Maybe you should read Joseph Cambell's The Hero With a Thousand Faces, but my instincts tell me that it's way above your reading level.

So in light of what @Judge Dredd posted, I made a mistake in my assessment of Bob. He may have a sliver of creativity, but it is quite evident that Bob's personality flaws, shitty attitude, and refusal to self-improve render him unskilled.

It's been a long time since I watched one of his movie reviews. Is he now showing himself talking to the camera the whole video now? Does he not know how ugly he is?

Here's what initially got me into MovieBob: His "broadcast voice." His "broadcast voice" honestly sounds a bit intelligent. And you never saw him on camera for his Escapist videos. So, why is he now sabotaging himself by no longer masking his accent and showing his blob-uous, balding, misshapen self on camera?

When I just listen to the video, his words, what he's saying, doesn't sound bad. It's not a bad review and he sells the movie as well made and a must-see. But his Boston accent makes it hard to listen to, and when I see this ugly guy in black talking to the camera I want to shut it off.
