I think Bob really is the hardest cow on this site not to a-log. Some might be more worthy of hatred and bile, but some of those are generally universally agreed upon as being absolute shitstains and thus acceptable to hate (Susan Schofield and Wendylou Napoles come to mind, as does the entire zoosadist cult). But man, you really have to try sometimes not to lose it with Blobbo.
Like, either he's being willfully obtuse or he genuinely doesn't understand that a country really should be looking out for its people, especially during times of strife that they had no part in causing. For his talk of "rising and falling on their own merits," he sure doesn't seem to say anything about how Obama tried to regulate fossil fuels to make them more expensive than renewables; doesn't seem like something falling on its own merit to me, but I guess when Black Jesus does it it's okay.
Some people can work from home, and that's great; anyone who can, should. But there are millions of workers and thousands of businesses that can't operate out of a house, and every day they're forced to stay closed brings them closer to the edge of shutting down for good. Fewer employers means fewer jobs, and that means difficult times for labor ahead.
That's why people are upset about the continued lockdowns, Bobby; getting pissed about not having access to their preferred leisure activities sounds like some major projection from someone who calls himself
MovieBob. The protestors understand the dangers of the virus, but they also know that they can't stay shut down forever. Since a vaccine is still months away at the earliest, the risk of infection is something we're just going to have to deal with. Keeping everything clamped down for weeks or months more is going to cause more damage than the virus could ever dream of. We're going to have to open before a vaccine is developed, so quit with your "hurf durf jerbs" hot takes and learn some basic economics for once.
You'd think Bob would be a little more sympathetic, since the first thing to go when money is tight is entertainment. His show is only supported by the absurd generosity of his fans, and I imagine that giving a few bucks to an internet movie reviewer would be the first bit of disposable income that gets trimmed. If the economy takes a bigger downturn, he'll find out about that tight labor market soon enough.
Really, the only thing that keeps me from going full a-log is remembering that he's a forty-year-old fatass who's gone absolutely nowhere with his life, will never amount to anything, and will probably spend the rest of his days screeching impotently into the void. It's been said before, but I'll say it again: being Bob Chipman is his crime and punishment.
