For those not in the know, Jenny Nicholson is a geek girl youtuber/Disney CONSOOMER who does movie reviews, commentary on weird books, and jills herself at the mere mention of amusement parks. It only makes sense that Jenny would find it weird that someone would enjoy the aspects of Disney World that don't require you to physically go and spend real money on. Another difference between the two is that Abby is a professional singer and, by her account, is happily married. It's been said many times before, but the new secular religion is many times worse than Christianity has been in hundreds of years, if ever. Even at its darkest points, Christianity still gave a path to redemption, a way to atone for one's sins. I guess Waititi or Gunn comes closest, but Waititi personally leaves me cold and Gunn is more quirky than genius. None of these movies are better than entertaining. They do not rise to the level of high art, and they certainly don't reflect the work of directors who do.

One credit I will give Gunn (Waititi less because I think he profited more off Gunn) is making a wacky, esoteric scifi movie palatable and popular with the normie audience.

You don't have to go far to find plenty of 80s, heck even 70s scifi films which are every bit as out there and nutty as Guardians of the Galaxy are - and almost all of them were box office flops or cult films. Like an overton window for tastes, there seemed to be a limit for how weird and zany you could make something before the general audience would reject it. Gunn IMHO legit shifted that window and expanded it in way that hadn't been seen since Star Wars.

I know it probably won't seem like much, but major audiences don't tolerate massive shifts. i.e. the difference between throwing a baseball hundreds of yards vs moving a mountain an inch.

For being a god-damn self-absorbed parasite who doesn't give a shit about actual god-damn working people, many of which FORFEIT their summers because of the fact that they have god-damn jobs and have to fuck WORK 24-7, whereas parasites like Blob are on 24-7 vacation living off of e-begging money and family who keep him up.

For the bulk of Americans, they lose their summers the moment they enter the workforce. My first couple of jobs offered ZERO vacation days and while my current job does offer SOME vacation time, it's not all at once vacation time but the insidious kind where you get 3-4 hours vacation a month and you lose it if you don't use it by the end of the year. Because of that, people like me in general are forced to fucking forgo ANY sort of summer vacation in order to have the vacation days to take time off at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

Most people NEVER get to have summer off, NEVER get to enjoy summer outside brief moments on the weekend when they aren't doing all of the stuff they can't do during the weekdays because they are trapped working inside during the week. Because they either don't have vacation days or they have to decide "do I want a week off in the summer or do I want to spend Thanksgiving with my family or Christmas with my family?".....
