Who are the rest of these creeps?

Slow day, so let's start with Bobby's Angels.

Bobby replies to Jake Alley's googleshng (Jake's thread is here, and I've reposted it in proper prose form here.)

I've seen this sentiment before. About 20 years ago I've talked with a company manager, who deplored at STEM grads' lack of "lateral thinking" skills. She would rather hire someone with a Humanities background and teach them Excel, than to hire a science nerd. It was easy to sympathize with her, in the halcyon days before Social Justice, when "Humanities" means The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire and Beowulf in original Old English, not intersectional feminism and white guilt.

Just because someone did more-heinous things doesn't mean what you said isn't heinous.

Spirituality is not bad, unless it impedes Superior Future. That's why indigenous ooga-booga shit is inherently good.

What is the difference between Manifest Destiny and "Superior Future" anyway?

No idea with the following except perhaps Bobby has stepped on feminist toes; I can't even figure out who is the "she" Bobby refers to.

He doesn't. He'd make a middle of the road Law and Order villain at best. Bob as a character would seem shallow and unrealistic to the audience.
Bob can only work as a character in a satire or comedy because of the fact he’s a fat loser who is delusional to believe he was chosen by Miyamoto to fight armies of bullies and believes himself to be part of a cultural elite.

Fucking hell, reading these tweets gave me a headache.

Imagine going through your day making up these interpretations about characters in a shitty descontruction capeshit series that serve a q-anon as a front for "literal nazis", so Robert can dunk on Fox news hosts and fucking Tulsi Gabbard, or discoursing about whatever the fuck "hopepunk" is supposed to be, so you can impress a looney troon with your try-hard word salad.

Also, his hate bonner for Nolan is getting ridiculous. Theaters didn't open just because of Christopher Nolan bitchfit, he doesn't have that power. Warner Bros just could have told him to go fuck himself and Nolan would take it like a bitch, because it is either Warner Bros, or getting dicked by Mickey Mouse. Fox is no more, Universal and paramount don't have the cash for his big brain expensive movies and Sony would just stick him on James Bond shit.

Theaters opened because at least they need to keep the ball rolling, even if it may impair the rent negotiations, it's gonna be much harder to pay the cumulative price if they don't start with their business as early as they can.

But as usual with Robert, this isn't about the pandemic or the theaters conditions, Robert just can't contain his hater boner against a white, good looking male that is living his dream life.

I don't know if this is a sign of low intelligence on my part, but it took me three tries to understand what Bob was trying to say in that final tweet. I know he's just doing this to look smart, but would it kill him to just say something along the lines of "That's an apples and oranges comparison. Manifest Destiny wasn't wrong, because it was a form of progress, it was wrong because it was a genocide."

Honestly, I'm beginning to be impressed by how Bob can fit so many words into such a restrictive medium.

You would think that Motion Picture Robert would be able to appreciate one of the last people that actually makes films to be movies and appreciated as cinema, not as a long form overbudget TV show. But no something something dudebros. I'm no Nolan fanatic but seriously. As the Anglosphere goes there aren't many others making actual cinema for theaters. It's a dying art.

My interpretation is that Bobby thinks Manifest Destiny is absolutely, manifestly wrong because it was a white people thing. BIPOC "spirituality" is apprehensive to "progress" not because BIPOCs are inherently reactionary; it is because the "progress" they are talking about have all been imposed by wypipo.

God, reading this makes me feel like my brain is leaking out through my ears. Also...wtf is 'hopepunk'? Google says its just the genre opposite of grimdark that some ya authors came up with in 2017, so why does Bob know so much about it? (and who reads books that're essentially 'everyone is quirky, kind and diverse for 300 pages'? wasn't Dr.Ellie just bitching about how she doesn't like that cute uwu stuff?)

Of course antifa goons steal a thing that has already been defined and slap their own paint on it. The genre is "Noblebright", not "Hopepunk". The former is actually workable, the latter is just another example of morons missing the point of punk.

I haven't heard the term in ages but it's something that popped up a few years ago. Basically a bunch of writers who disliked the oppressive bleakness of typical "punk" media and so they tried making a genre centered around bright optimism with maybe some Captain Planet tier views on environmentalism or social issues. They use "grimdark" as a descriptor for what they're pushing against.

So 90% sure it's not "punk" in any sense and exists mostly as a reactionary thing.

Movieblob saying "Manifest Destiny is wrong because it was wrong" is some basic bitch tier circular reasoning. You'd think it wouldn't kill him to you know, actually say WHY it's wrong, but as another poster pointed out, Mario Galaxy Smoothbrain Bob can't actually think (and thus articulate why it's wrong).

I'd rather have arguments for why Manifest Destiny is good.

I could picture a Bob-esque character in a Reno 911 style comedy but with superheros instead of cops. In the movie Reno 911 Miami one of the main villains is a Cuban drug lord who
is revealed to be a wannabe living in his mothers condo and just acting out the part of a stereotypical drug lord by emulating Scarface.
I can see some Superhero comedy using the same kind of joke where the Superheros who have been tracking the Supervillain the whole film and listening to his genocidal rants over the Internet finally trace his IP address and find out that Dr. Diabetes lair is his mothers basement and when they have their epic confrontation they keep making fun of his living conditions while his mother in a stereotypical Jewish Mom voice is asking if his friends want any snacks.

Thats always been one of my favorite aspects of Bob. His Twitter ramblings are something you would expect to hear out of the mouth of a cartoon supervillain, but come from the mouth of a fat nerd living in his Aunts basement.
