Sadly Patreon is run by SJW types who explicitly run the site on the double standards that SJWs can do and say the most beyond the pale shit imaginable but still be a part of the website but deplatform everyone else for even rumor that they might have said something "bad", with bad being whatever the lunatic left says is bad enough to warren being deplatformed from Patreon.

They'll keep Bob around, purely on the principal that he's a loyal anti-life drone and as such, must be protected or else Gamergate wins.
Maybe, but I think Bob is unlikable enough even to many of those people that they might make an exception. Especiall if orange man wins the election, I think Bob will go so far even they can't ignore it. "Specific, targeted death threats" far.

The mcu did one thing good in my eyes that very few film franchises do. Making consistently good films that keep people engaged.
They certainly — inexplicably — engaged an audience, but none of the instalments of the MCU that I've seen have been good. I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy and Antman, for example, yet if Infinity Wars and Endgame are considered the crown jewels of the whole project, then I can safely say that each and every movie is this universe are painfully mediocre and bland. That these movies have such a frenzied fanbase that find Martin Scorsese's innocuous comment of the mediocrity and cheapness of the movies to be an affront to their idea of the MCU representing the supposed zenith of cultural (and in Robert's case, intellectual) perfection is disappointing, to put it mildly.

Holy fucking shit. Between this and Eric "Kathleen Kennedy Sodomized My" Butts, it is absolutely horrifying to see what can only be described as the Epitome Of Human Evolutionary Stagnation. This fat faggot bitch is really acting like the MCU, whose sole purpose is to sell tickets to families and merchandise to kids en masse using whatever demographics ploy possible, is some kind of Holy Grail Sophocles/Shakespeare/Cervantes level masterpiece of storytelling.
Even good critics like MauLer hold up the MCU as masterful storytelling with a few stumbles here and there.* His TFA critque will have either Buffy the Vampire Slayer clips or RDJ as examples of good character writing. It's not just Diabeto holding up the MCU as the pinnacle of storytelling.

Again, I know this is a thread making fun of MovieBlob, but talking about movies is a far more productive and insightful use of time than talking about MovieBlob.

*Even Shakespeare wrote some forgettable plays like Timon of Athens. Even masters don't get it right every time.

He's now NEETBob.

People mistake "cohesively if not creatively designed" and "competently put together" for good if you mix it in with some jokes and CGI battles. There are some great superhero movies, but the only MCU film I really think is any good is the first Iron Man. I feel like, they range from dull and forgettable to Star Wars prequel bad. I meant the Thor movies even have Natalie Portman as the love interest for maximum prequel awfulness.

The continuity helps with making mediocre movies feel worthwhile. Say, Captain America is quite boring, but wait, there's this Winter Soldier movie where he has do deal with some complex shit. Still, it's wrong to make broad statements about the MCU. What's the best movies of the Iron Man, Captain American, and Thor Trilogy? First, Second, and Third. Infinity war only works as a sequel, but it makes full use of being a sequel to tell a story much longer than movies typically allow. You can get a book length story from the MCU, which is typically impossible with movies.

Wait, is it NOT usual for siblings to give each other anniversary gifts (assuming they're all married)???? Blob giving his bro an anniversary gift doesn't sound odd AT ALL. Hell, my parents and their siblings ALWAYS gave each other an anniversary gift every year, so this sounds. ..... normal?
(I'm assuming Chris would give Blob an anniversary gift, had blob any wife, though that looks like it's never happening)

Dear God! Can anyone tell me what the hell this "creative class" and "intellectual labor" is supposed to mean? From where I stand they are fabricated terms Bob uses to make himself sound smarter than he really is (and failing miserably.) Either that or they are euphemisms for "useless fat ass who's too lazy to get a useful job."
Bob's definition of "working class", or rather "actually relevant evolved 21st Century intellectual/creative working class" includes mainly metropolitan (home) office jobs and the baristas who serve them coffee. It means the underpaid animators who slave away to make the newest Pixar movie possible, the movie reviewers who talk about said movies, and other "content creators" who further the cycle of consoomption as well as the actual working class people who work the coffee machines and supermarket cash registers. Of course, the latter are in more immediate danger of being automated, which should concern Bob since he thinks those metropolitan working class people are mainly PoCs and good folks, but of course, Bob also thinks everyone in the BIG CITY is a creative genius just waiting to happen, and those PoC baristas and cashiers will just become intellectual/creative working class content creators like Bob himself since they're not obsolete mayo ghouls.
Bob's worldview is confusing yet ridiculously simple at its core.

quit his engineering job
Holy fuck, what the hell? Was he stupid enough to do this? To commit career suicide in such a way it's hilarious and depressing. I bet on a mid life crisis being to blame for this.
We really need some banner like "This is what MovieBob actually believes" à la South Park Scientology episode.
I bet on a "Moviebob believes that farmers and lumberjacks should starve to death, since their very existance is a poison on civilization."

He hasn’t said he quit his job, he’s just begging as if he did. NOT quitting his job and begging as if he did is not exactly any kind of sane behavior either. Or maybe Chris is begging like he has to pay Bob’s rent from now on because he knows the likelihood of his brother ever getting another employment contract.

Both are very possible. I mean, his desperation when begging is akin to an obese chick in Onlyfans. But thinking that Bob has gone full neet and is now 100% supported by his family while having absolutely no chance of getting a job might make the Blob even more bitter about his situation, so expect more ramblings about Trump and mayo ghouls. We might need more time to know the full extent of their acts and if Bob's prospects are that bleak.

Surely all Bob needs to do is don a clean shirt and walk into the gainful employment he has informed us comes so effortlessly to white men regardless of ability or intellect.

The Judd Apatow Gang was behind a lot of solid comedies, Anchorman 1, 40 Year Old Virgin, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Superbad, This Is The End, and Pineapple Express. Sadly it seems Woke Culture/Political Correctness has forced Hollywood to stop producing these kinds of movies or they at least have to placate to PC Culture and just straight up suck.

The stars and writers of literally all of those movies are the woke culture in Hollywood. Seth Rogan might be the most insufferable cunt in all of Hollywood.

"Kind of a bummer on my end, I have to also assume on theirs"

I'll give Bob this much, he didn't flat out say "fuck you escapist" and is maintaining a level of decorum he does not typically show on social media and speaking of which.

Bob, no one laughing at you thinks they're gonna take down Netflix. That wasn't even brought up in this person's tweet or even what it was in response too. Also you are not James Gunn in ANY sense and, again, no one brought up Gunn and Gunn might not even get his own franchise, let alone the other Guardians movie, because of the lockdowns you are such a fan of.

>Didn’t work last time.
Bob, let’s break down the James Gunn situation. He was fired right off the success of two blockbuster films that were seen by many in the public as “the fresh air in the MCU.” Guardians exploded like no one could have ever predicted. His firing delayed guardians 3 by a significant amount keeping in mind that even a week of delays can cost thousands or even tense of thousands of dollars in such a fast paced industry as Hollywood and keeping in mind that every day needs to be rescheduled in some aspect which would mean it could take weeks just to reschedule whatever meeting was planned for that one Tuesday you missed. Indeed, Hollywood is one of the few industries where you can’t really afford a delay of any amount of time unless it’s absolutely necessary.

James Gunn is then hired by Warner to try and save the failing Suicide Squad franchise. Seen as a win for DC, until you remember that Joss Whedon was hired after avengers 2 to “save” justice league. Yes, DC using marvel talent has never worked well for them. But it also meant even further development hell for guardians 3. Then you’ve got Infinity war which meant guardians 3 was locked away until after end game, so all of the MCU had to hibernate.

Fast forward to the announcer of the new business plan- I mean phase in the MCU and guardians is not only no where to be found, there is nearly no fanfare for any of the offerings.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this: James Gunn getting fired set the MCU so far back that Disney was essentially left with no big follow up movie for end game. It would have likely premiered at some point this year or even last year had he not been canned, and with Covid restrictions, it might even be safe to say that James Gunn getting fired could result in all of the MCU collapsing.

So yes, Bob, it did work. Just not in the way you thought it would

I wonder what MovieBob thought of the movie Tenet with Christopher Nolan. Is he a big fan of Nolan’s Batman series?
He loved The Dark Knight when it released. Praised it to high heaven and called it excellent and was pissed when it was snubbed for a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.

He loved Inception as well and was really smug about having understood the plot.

Then The Dark Knight Rises released and he hated it and did a total 180 and started retroactively hating all of Nolan's previous movies as well, including The Dark Knight. He thinks Nolan movies have no heart or soul and are made for dudebros. He panned Interstellar and gave a middling review to Dunkirk.

He refused to see Tenet in theatres because he is scared of corona.

Bob thinks real life is just like bickering twitter factions. He really must not be aware that the same causal movie goers who go see MCU movies also see Nolan and DC movies. They just want to go to the movies, they don't care about "sides".

In Bob's mind the movie industry namely Marvel and Disney have replaced the church and so the silver screen has replaced the pulpit, and sure People can see other movies but they won't have that "magical" zeitgeist redefining Captain America wielding Thor's hammer moment that he likes to reference.

It's like the weird bullshit feud between Sega and Nintendo. A human being can like Sonic AND Mario.
Although nobody should like Sonic because apparently that's how you catch autism.
