This is so wonderful. At a time where Bob should be at his peak smuggest he still finds a way to achieve a horribly embarrassing, demoralizing failure.

I've noticed recently that a lot of people don't seem to understand that mediocre literally means average.I feel like mediocre is a bit of a generous description of Bob.
“Below average” is still an exceedingly generous description of Robert.I've noticed recently that a lot of people don't seem to understand that mediocre literally means average.
I've seen it used more and more as a synonym for "below average", probably because the word is so often used in a negative context.
EZPZ did a similar thing.... 3 yr ago. And I think it still applies.I honestly would love for someone to make a Down the Rabbit Hole video on Bob. It would be interesting.
How can anybody live like this? Constantly curating your associations to not get on the bad side of the woke mob?Lindsay is probably the smartest of the TGWTG alumni. That's not to say I like her content or her opinions, but she has a brain on her and her move against FlimBlob was extremely calculating and precise. Others have said that she is usually very conflict-averse, so if she felt she had to break cover and take a shot, she had to nail Blobert right between the eyes, and she did.
Remember the circles where Lindsay runs. Guilt by association is a big thing with the SJW mindset. If you are friends with someone who becomes an UnPerson, or seen to have ever interacted with them in a positive way, you are an UnPerson too. Remember when JonTron got UnPersoned by the left, it was not just him but anyone who ever associated with him who was put on blacklists and had hordes of useful idiots trying to ruin their careers. ResetERA (always a good place to get up to date information on what the SJW crowd are frothing about this week) not only banned all mention of JonTron on their forum, but (for example) also banned SkillUp gaming. Why? Because SkillUp's brother once appeared in a video with JonTron. Not even SkillUp himself. That's the kind of thing that she would have had in the back of her mind every time Bob said something stupid or started a fight. Once Bob was fired from the Escapist, he lost both his corporate protection and the last thing keeping his public sperging on any kind of leash.
Lindsay knew that Bob was a scandal waiting to happen - aside from his revolting political opinions, she knew first-hand what a creep he was and that someone would #metoo him eventually, and if it wasn't her that did it she'd look bad or even complicit. So by the public callout, she achieved multiple things:
- She ensures that any future scandal Bob gets himself into no longer drags her into it by association
- She gets to be a #metoo victim and gain plenty of woke points
- She gets Bob out of her mentions and her life
- She gets to cancel and shit on someone she clearly hates and bask in the righteous schadenfreude
All these were achieved at once. Boom, headshot. A good day's work.
Say what you want about Lindsay Ellis, but she is an intellectual titan compared to Bob. Then again, so is the average houseplant, but never underestimate the intelligence and cunning of an experienced woke operator and manipulator like her.
E-fame is a helluva drugHow can anybody live like this? Constantly curating your associations to not get on the bad side of the woke mob?
It honestly does sound absolutely maddening. But I guess the road to fame and power always is.How can anybody live like this? Constantly curating your associations to not get on the bad side of the woke mob?
Absolutely. It's like the Mafia, or at least how they're depicted in movies. You order hits all your life and then one day you're out on your boat and your #2 clubs you over the head with an oar.One day Lindsay will have the same thing happening to her. After all, when you live on Twitter, you die on Twitter.
I'm so glad I only use twitter for HentaiAbsolutely. It's like the Mafia, or at least how they're depicted in movies. You order hits all your life and then one day you're out on your boat and your #2 clubs you over the head with an oar.
I've seen people asking for an Internet celebrity board, semi-ironically, to be called /incel/A decade ago /tv/ wouldn't even have bothered with ecelebs or would have known to let the thing run its course instead of fucking it up.

I generally think it's wrong to say social networks have negative effects on people that aren't attributable to larger forces. Twitter is just an avenue of expression. There is a reason why Twitter seems to be full of insane and spiteful people who are mad at everything. That place does things to you, and none of it is good.
yea, its why contrapoints transitioned as a failsafe. If the same thing happens to Lindsay, it'll be just as funny. But I guess women in that clique are higher in the hierarchy.
Everyone saying "he was just thirst posting, what's the big deal": if he was actually thirst posting it would be better, at least it's straightforward and somewhat flattering if Bob weren't such a creep. But he was just hitting her with pathetic, "I validate you. You are worthwhile" teenage girl level simpering which his autistic mind thought translated to talking up. She was totally within her right to get mad and blast him and NC annoys the fuck out of me usually.
