I couldn't bring myself to watch it. Do they address the fallout from Rorschach's diary being published? That is the implication of the final panel, after all, that he's about to undo Ozymandias's plan from beyond the grave and send them spiraling back into inevitable nuclear war between the powers. (One reason I never thought any sequel to Watchmen could work; it is almost purely an artifact of its time.)
Nope, in fact Alan More being a grade-A douche that he is said in an interview "Ye, Rorschach's diary was tossed away and seen as crazy conspiracy's of a mad man" . That being said, the TV series is just badly panderin' shit from the 1st episode where you have people being hunted because they are related to some Southern assholes that were behind a massacre that happened a long time ago, but these people need to suffer because "Muh nigga ancestor was prob shot by yer nigga hatin' great grandaddy!", while Rorshach is seen as this figure by a sort off KKK knock-off group that is made off both Cops and some Southern Militia.

That's actually the plot to Doomsday Clock, the comic sequel to Watchmen. Everything goes to shit anyways and Ozymandias sets up a plot to try to bring Dr. Manhattan back. A lot of people dismiss it because they see Superman and Batman on the covers but the DCU could be taken out of the story and it still works. They're mostly there because it ties into Manhattan's development with rediscovering his humanity as Ozy planned. A lot of playing around with the contrast between a grounded world like Watchmen's and their's.

I agree it doesn't need a sequel but that was surprisingly more respectful than other attempts at cashing in on the book. Got overshadowed by the HBO show since it came out around the same time and people hating the idea of it before actually looking.

There's also a plot about disinformation from multiple political factions causing things to escalate as a parallel to the nuclear conflict in Watchmen's world. idk if the HBO sequel actually has anything like that since most of what I've seen centered around racism.

Yes. Eventually Adrian's plot gets found out and he gets exiled on the Moon.

There's a sub plot with some Asian chick who was made when her mom turkey basted herself with Adrian's stolen jizz to create a genius baby, that tries to steal Manhattan's powers.

He's a fucking simp who's lusted over her for ages and we've seen how he treats Aimée Therese.

He's stalking her.
So you think one day he's going to get careless and accidentally reply to something Lindsey said that he wants to virtue signal, only to get blown out again? Because that'd be funny.

I can see him being dumb enough to believe she just needs some time before he can try again to 'rekindle their friendship' or something. Maybe he's planning to 'bump into her' at a con after the vaccine happens and maybe just small talk until she's so overwhelmed by his knowledge of Judy Blume that she fucks him right there on the convention floor while everyone, including her husband, praises him. I do hope he tries that, just so we can get footage of him being escorted out of the con by security while trying to yell that this is all a misunderstanding.

Almost guaranteed he's thinking that it will all blow over and he'll try to engage with her again, I'm betting around March will be his planned moment. She might not react instantly but he'll build it up again to a full telling off, only this time it will definitely harm him because the woke brigade already know he's been asked to stop. I'm hoping for a Hot dog girl based scandle to surface to see if Bob can resist from diving in a white knighting the fuck out if her to the point he becomes the scandle.

That or as you speculate he'll accidentally hit like or share on something whith his fat fingers while scrolling her page for the 50th time that day.

I remember that American Bob video where he said that traditional relationships are all based on lies.

It depends on whether he really believes that, or it's just frustrated incel talk to make himself feel better.
I went back to find that video and check out what was :feels:'d by Moviebob:

I can't help but imagine he did it while trying to bury his sorrows in Pabst Blue Ribbon on the verge of tears. "WELL MIGHT AS WELL ADMIT WHAT EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS. :("

I don't feel like he's that stupid. I know Bob is not one who learns lessons from his stupidity biting him in the ass, but she berated him and called him out in front of the entire internet. There's no more pretending that they're friends, Bob knows if he continues to think she is that she'll call him out once more on Twitter. He does not want that happening.

I think a better scenario would be that due to his rage building up over what happened, he'll eventually snap and unload on her for humiliating him online. She and her fans will then kindly return the favor by retaliating in a way that could very likely drive what remains of his career into the ground.

3400 pages of sperging.
:story:

Can we get some Rule 34 to celebrate?

ETA: Do you think Bob has ever commissioned porn of himself? I can absolutely see him asking someone to draw him as Mario with Princess Peach, or something equally sick. I'm so sorry I put this image in your heads.

What does Bob actually have left though? Hell, Jerry Peet has been ripping off his shtick for a decade and has a higher sub count and viewership than Bob.

Well, the new series is purely an artifact of its time, so that's oddly fitting. I wonder what future generations are going to do when they see this black hole of woke entertainment that was created to appeal only to the "X" studies majors and insular cosmopolitan bubble people who wrote it? I'm going to assume future people will either ignore it or view it with cringe the way modern day people view avocado naugahide, jello salads made with carrot peelings and powder blue suits with chest ruffles.

Not saying you couldn't do a watchmen-esque tale with racism as the centerpiece, but you know, you would need to do it in a world that wasn't ass raped by a giant alien. Because after something like that? Racism among humans seems incredibly small.
Yeah. I forgot what it was called but there was this book where aliens invade the earth during the middle of WW2 and the point of the book was ”when there's a threat to human life on this planet, humans should unite” to the point where the Nazis fought with the Allies and against the aliens.

There's no way anything like the George Floyd protests could gain serious traction after an alien invasion, because humanity has bigger problems on its plate than dealing with the fallout from a black man being killed by cops.

As the Muslims say, insh'Allah.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he does try that, and then pulls a Russell Greer and starts claiming that Lindsay Ellis is a bigot for not hopping on his dick.

I'd actually love to see that. Say what you will about cancel culture, it's pretty damn entertaining when people who have spent their whole life sucking up to the left and simping for leftist activists and politicians get held accountable for being a perv/making a vaguely racist joke by the people who they thought would protect them.

To quote Hosea 8:7, when they sow the wind, they shall reap the whirlwind.

Looks essential.

Bobby's Angels. More bonding with a genuine woman (I think?) over WW84.

Bobby feels the need to apologize about some of his earlier reviews:

In English, that means ”please don't cancel me, m'lady”.
Does he even understand that it's his genocide advocacy and generally toxic insanity that people like Lindsay Ellis back away from nervously, and not that he was a bit of a dick in some review years ago?

Does he even understand
No.

More seriously, he thinks that because he supports something, his waifus will support it too. There was a post he wrote and which I'll try and find where he basically said AOC would be on board with neo-feudalism, mainly because he wants to fuck her and therefore convinces himself that she agrees with him. He probably went through a similar process with Lindsay Ellis.

Edit: the post's here and is basically along the lines of ”I like the idea of technocratic feudalism and I like looking at women I consider hot, so it follows that a woman I consider hot would support technocratic feudalism”. He also tries to invent some retarded origin story for a politician, because he can't go five minutes without thinking about capeshit and can't understand that someone working as a bartender, and, as such, someone who doesn't matter in Bob's view of the world, might be able to work her own way up and become a Congresswoman.

Pretty rich that Bob's making fun of Mitch McConnell's front door. Mitch gets to live above ground, Bob. That alone makes his living situation far better than yours. Oh, and Mitch probably isn't renting it from his aunt at a pity-induced below-market rate.

That last part's just a guess. Maybe I'm wrong, and Bob's such a big asshole that she charges him the full market rate for a basement studio apartment.

Bob shouldn't make fun of people, especially when those people have done more in their life than he ever will.

Say what you will about Mitch, he'll be remembered in history for a lot longer than Roberto de Cine. When people go and write history books on early 20's and late 10's America, Mitch McConnell will be one of the names prominently featured, while Moviebob will, at best, get one sentence dedicated to him in some 2070's psychology student's dissertation on how social networks commodified friendship and persuaded people to think they had relationships which they didn't.

My layman's opinion is that:
1) Floyd was on fentanyl as has been shown by the various autopsies
2) kneeling on someone's neck for ~8 minutes while that person has been saying that he can't breathe is criminal negligence.

Whether Floyd would have died or not if Chauvin hadn't knelt on his neck is debatable, but I'd say that cutting off someone's oxygen for 8 minutes is likely to kill that person even if he's an Olympic athlete.
This is what angers me more than anything and has been completely swept under the rug because of "muh racism". Three months into being locked into our homes in pseudo house arrest, a member of the enforcement branch of the government stood in a citizen's neck for eight minutes while the citizen and citizenry pleaded for relief, only for it to fall on uncaring ears with a smug look on its face reveling in its power, all while on fucking camera.

Show me a better representation of of the lockdowns than that.

But why would the media, government, and faggots like Bob EVER point out that the government has too much power and reach let alone do something about it? This the shit that Bob begs for in an almost daily basis. Just tell the poor and desperate masses that it's just systemic racism and have them kill each other. Their attention is pulled away from the actual problem and the powers that be remain in power and shits like Bob will eat it up as they've deluded themselves into believing that it will never come back on them.
