Bob thinking that the Arkham games are suddenly gonna be considered bad in the future is pure wishful thinking.

That's as out of touch as it gets.

It's just more of his, "In the superior future, everyone will agree with ME!!!"

I literally just did a playthrough of all three games sans Orgins. They all hold up really well. The graphics in Asylum and City have aged great. Some of the best graphics of the seventh generation. Knight may have had it's flaws but it's a decent game all things considered.

Thing is, I kind of understand what he meant. From Bob's perspective, he thought Lindsay had led him to believe they were friends, and the sudden reversal took him completely by surprise. I think by "gaslit" he meant that Lindsay had intentionally (or maybe unintentionally, hence "borderline") given him the impression she enjoyed his company (and maybe his affections, someday!), and the tactical nuke blindsided him.

The problem, of course, is that you would have to be an absolute moron to think Lindsay had led him on in any way, and not just because of the softblocking. She never acknowledged him, retweeted him, or sent potential new viewers his way. She barely engaged with him at all. The only way the gaslighting accusation made sense was if she was communicating with him privately, and I'm sure if she had been Bob would have said something about it after she blasted him.

It really demonstrates how incredibly delusional he is.

There's literally no indication that she's ever had any form of contact with him outside of that one convention photo. That and her eventually telling him off. As far as what we can publicly see via social media, she's never interacted with him once. Anytime we saw anything related to her in this thread it was either Bob liking one of her tweets or retweeting her. Sometimes he may have been in a conversation she was also in, but she was never shown responding back to him.

This debacle really exemplifies just how extremist Bob is in all of his behavior, views and personality traits. Plenty of delusional people have fantasies that will never come true. Bob on the other hand literally concocted an entire fantasy in his head of a relationship with a woman he didn't know but was infatuated with and then preceded to implement into the real world. He actually thought that his fantasy was real, and was genuinely taken aback by the fact that this fantasy he had in his head wasn't actually based in reality.

Just call one side the devil and your side perfect.

It's just the pre-teen mindset he's been cruising on for at least 30 years now. Go find his old blogposts from when he was a kid talking about how Nintendo is great and Sega sucks!!!!. It's just the same thing, with bigger words.

And his brother has the exact same arrested development only he stopped in his 20s instead of High School. Neither want to be adults, Chris is still dreaming about making it big on the Internet and Bob still wants to be a spaceman with a robot friend whenever asked what he wants to be when he grows up.

It's worth pointing out that the romantic aspect of this delusion is mostly us dunking on him. There was a creepy edge to a lot of his attempts to get her attention, but I don't think he really believed he had a shot with her (although if her marriage fell apart he probably would have at least made the attempt). The centerpiece of his delusion wasn't infatuation but the idea that they were colleagues; that he and Lindsay are almost on the same level of prestige and prominence. They started at the same level, more or less, and now that Lindsay is on PBS and has publishing contracts, well, she may be ahead now, but Bob will catch up any day now! And even if he doesn't, certainly Lindsay knows that he's just as good and smart and witty as she is, so naturally she'll respect him.

Considering the quality of his product, this may be even more pathetic than if he really was trying to score with her.

I'm guessing that his sleep quality is terrible. He probably wakes in the middle of the night with vaguely constricted breathing that won't let him sleep and won't clear while he lies down, causing him to get up. (Mold can do that.) And since he only plans to be up for a few minutes, he makes "a normal amount of tweets for an average sized person". This is a mistake, since the blue component of the light of the screen will wake him up, and so will getting mad about being exposed to people mocking him or disagreeing with him.

I believe that he would have picked up and read a comic at least once in his lifetime, but the likelihood that he was a regular reader is infinitesimal. His pretensions of being an authority on DC and Marvel are one of the things about him that piss me off the most. As much as I despise gatekeeping, I will not hesitate in calling Bob a fake fan because he has no respect for the house that Stan, Jack, and Steve built. Much like the phonies that pollute the industry and fandom, he only gushes over Marvel because of the MCU's popularity with the normies and superimposes his absurd belief system on the characters. Hell, it is people like him that make embarrassed to admit that I liked Marvel.

There is one thing I will gladly hold over his malformed, potato-like head. At least I got to be in the presence of Stan Lee and had a photo taken with him. Grant, I paid eighty bucks for the privilege, I was closer to him than Bob ever had been.
