I'm repeating myself, but Bob is a damn moron if he believes that there would be an upside to a "Black Superman" movie, especially in today's atmosphere. Superman is an icon that is recognized across the world whose visage is plastered over countless varieties of media and merchandise, and all them portray Kal-El/Clark Kent as a white man. SuperheroesInColor can crow on about how many black "Supermen" there are, but the truth of the matter is that they are all derivatives of the original version created by Siegel and Shuster in 1938. Audiences want the original and deviating from that formula in such a drastic way will inevitably alienate the majority of audiences who will recognize this as obvious pandering. Let's look at the numbers. Blacks make up 13% of the United States's population, a number that has remained stagnant for years. I doubt that they would turn out in numbers like they did for Black Panther. Don't expect the Chinese market to bolster sales as a) their own domestic film industry is taking a larger share, and b) they hate black people.Black Superman:

If audiences were upset with him playing a white character from a barely-remember television show, they would go apeshit if he played an icon of Superman's stature.
