I apologize if this is necroing or whatever you want to call it, but I have to chime in. Chipman, despite worshipping "science" and "technology", is not particularly concerned with understand how it works or what it "means" on a more fundamental level. I have to preface this by saying I am a right winger and pro technology. I think Elon Musk is a Luddite.

But because of a unique pathology I have read many leftists, and the idea that there would be "bad cop code" in the robot is absurd. It's called ontology, robert, and computers have ontologies, they construct and create worlds and realities based on their underlying system. Computer vision is the best example of this, machine learning not seeing black people as people is not, in fact, a "bias" or "error" but inherent to the technological system. See why cameras didn't capture black skin, its inherent to the technology itself.
