Marvel's rock monster Ben doesn't have to stay monstrous; he'd just have to adjust his attitude and he can easily turn back to a normal man. Whether this has any relevance to Bobby I'll leave it to you.

I wonder if the technology were available in 2021 to transfer consciousness to the superior ideal robot body and it were offered to Bob on the condition he had to never again post something hateful or view others as inferior - could he do it?

No, Bob is too full of pride and hate to give up mocking others he deems below him.

His employers literally threatened him with firing if he didn't knock off his bullshit on Twitter. He refused to do so because he thought they were full of shit.

You could literally pay Bob not to tweet and he still couldn't do it. It's an addiction he can't control.

Diabetes related. He's about to go the way of OnlyLoseMeLeg.

Stop drinking the beer-uh
People with diabetes can actually drink if they take their medicine right, or so I heard, but considering that Bob is too busy spending his days fangirling about Marvel on twitter he probably isn't doing good with that.

Smug? Sad? Angry? I'll let you, the audience, decide.

I'll meet you half-way and say, "smad." I was contemplating what what Dr. McKinnon said about spite and how it relates to Bob. Oh, I'm sure Bob is a as spiteful as they come, but then I remember how he said--and I paraphrase--that anger "gets things done." That is somewhat true; anger is a powerful motivator for action at the expense of being extremely corrosive internally and contagious. No one wants to be around an angry fuck who rants about how (insert group here) stole the future he feels that he is entitled to. When you cut to heart of the matter, Bob simply wants to harm those he sees as proxies for the bullies that picked on him through his early years. You see it in his rhetoric about crushing or stomping "White Trash America" AKA those that actually do physical labor and vote GOP. I have no doubt in that he would relish in watching the state physically harm those he hates because he is too much of a coward to do it himself.

There was an Avengers storyline from the late sixties where Kang the Conquerer made a wager with the Grandmaster to gain power over life and death to revive his beloved--Ravonna. He only won a single round so the Grandmaster gave him a choice: life or death. Kang chose the latter over his love and tried to kill the Avengers, only for the Black Knight (who hadn't been inducted into the team) to thwart him. Give Bob the choice of either happiness or killing all of the wasteland ghouls, he would chose the latter and still be a miserable bastard with an amputated leg.

Whenever I feel angry and helpless, I often recite the Serenity Prayer: "God give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Bob seems to focus on the things he cannot change. Technological progress does not happen as fast as we'd like--futurists have been (literally) been promising us the moon and stars since the beginnings of the space race, but engineering challenges have hampered our efforts. Chief among them is that launching stuff into space is expensive. Transhumanism comes with its own technical obstacles and ethical/philosophical implications. All of this remains well outside of Bob's influence and yet he chooses to obsess over this because he lacks he wisdom to realize that he cannot change the speed of technological progress. Thus we see him trying to rationalize it as bunch of "obsolescents" holding humanity back from a fantasy utopia that only exists in his imagination.

I do see a glimmer of self-awareness in him. He just turned 40 and he is not where he wanted to be in life. The 4-0 is often called "over the hill" because it is literally all downhill from here. He's still able to live a relative comfortable life through Patreon and whatever he gets from YouTube and his side gigs, but nowhere where he thought he would be. There is no way that he is going to have the career James Gunn has and I suspect that Bob is subconsciously aware of this, thus he doubles down on the rhetoric because that's all he can do now. He will never have the life he believed that he was entitled to and it's too late for him to change course.

Thus, I must ask, "Did anger work for Bob Chipman?"

If he loses the leg then I look forward to how that will destroy his Twitter enjoyment. One all the Kiwi Victory Tweets as the farms predicted Footless Fuehrer & every time he tweets out some stupid or hateful thing in the future he'll get the response "Bob you don't have a leg to stand on".
The day that sucker gets removed is going to be officially marked as a holiday for this site moving forward. We'll celebrate by playing FPS games, doing readings from Brick by Brick and we'll eat a fairly small amount of McDonalds for an average-sized person.

Around the time that I turned 40, I found that a lot of "kid" things, or at least things I'd been doing since being a kid, had stopped being fun anymore....which I attributed to the realization that life was half over for me was causing my brain, possibly overtly and possibly subconsciously, to reject such as wastes of time I literally do not have left. One of the great things about childhood is the innocence of "wasting" time because you'll have another day to do the "important" stuff.

The older you get, the more you realize you don't have that luxury, and never did.

At first I was bummed about it because I wondered where do you go in life when your hobbies and go-to diversions kind of run out of steam?

Then I realized It would help me focus on things that really matter, like getting somewhere professionally, taking better care of myself and being less wont to love things and lifestyles that you can't take with you and won't reciprocate. Saturday morning cartoons don't do it for you anymore? Well, that's kinda sad, but on the plus side, it means you spend your mornings doing more productive things than wasting 4 hours staring at the TV and eating sugary junk cereal.

And you realize that it's not half as important if your favorite ship in a fictional imaginary universe happens than if you can get your OWN one in REAL life to work for you instead.

I think you are right, Bob has hit that point where he's realizing that it's time, as they say, to "put away childish things, including the fear of being grown up" , and he can't do it.

He can't bring himself to pack up his lifetime of blind, lavish and dedicated consoomerism and reverence to people who turned out to be actors in roles and live an actual adult life.

He knows that as he rolls out of bed and looks in the mirror every day that he's continuing to get older, he can see it, he can feel it, and instead of just accepting that it's time to act grown up to go along with his grown up form, he doubles, triples, quadruples down on staying mentally and socially stuck in 2000 - 2016, FOREVER.

Hey, looks like one of Bob's angels got featured in a @Memology 101 video! (at least I'm pretty sure Thorne is an angel, I will of course defer to the astute scholar @Ralph Barnhardt to check my work)
Thorne Melcher is an Angel, Rat King, and one of Bobby's own. He is bumbfuck insane even by Angel standards. If you think Bobby is a shitty piece of shit who shits on everyone around him, you should read Thorne's thread -- start with the last pages, lovingly curated by myself.
