Mega fucked. Forget the employees, they're replacable and 99% of moderation is entirely automated anyway (they will blatantly lie and say this isn't true, but it is). The REAL bad shit for them is that their "DevEx" program is their method of letting users monetize the games they created on the platform—their cut of the in-game currency earned by player purchases in their games can be converted into cash at a reduced conversion rate, incentivizing them to hypermonetize their game. Making more money for Roblox means they make a bigger cut of it themselves.

If the hackers aren't bluffing, then everything down to the SSNs and home addresses of each creator who participated in the DevEx program will not only be publically released, but used to fuck with them by the hackers themselves. This will cause the community to lose faith in the program that incentivized them to make profitable games for Roblox in the first place, and cause existing creators to leave en masse—especially if it turns out Roblox refuses to pay. Roblox is run by retards who chased out all of the creative types and can no longer make anything good themselves, so they entirely rely on the community to generate profitable content for them. If that dries up (because the perception becomes that doing so leads to dox+extortion), Roblox is TURBO FUCKED.

Just last year my aunt came to me asking for help about the app because it kept forcing microtransactions on my little cousin, with purchase windows popping up lightning-fast on the screen during gameplay sections where he'd be rapidly tapping the screen already, leading to him naturally tapping the "purchase" button so fast that the window closes before he even registers what happened.

This is just another nail in the coffin for this sinking ship of a company. I don't expect them to last much longer, their best hope is someone willing to buy this shitheap because of its large userbase.

Update to the situation: They (Tipalti) are now saying they did not detect anybody in their systems, according to this article (archive). Either, they are lying about the situation, or something else is going on here.

Normalization of degeneracy comes in waves, but the point I was really driving at was that Bronies normalized that particular kind of childishness.

Prior to Bronies, adults who collected toys kept it quiet and only really shared it in special interest groups.
