Honestly, I can't hate the newer users that wear UGC slop, because I know full damn well that I would've wore similar slop if public UGC was a thing when I was a kid. Still wish the people making these cosmetics would stop uploading blatantly sexual ones, or ones that are several hundred times the size of the player.

It's honestly incredible how much autistic (and I mean seriously autistic) Milsim LARPing there is on Roblox. People will recreate places from Afghanistan with super realistic vehicle and gun models accurate to the specific period of the GWOT they're in, all while using Blocky humanoids for the player models.
I remember finding this video in my sidebar one time, and I was laughing at how it was a "realistic" Roblox Milsim game being edited like a war aesthetics video

Late, but: I don't like that guy's voice acting. He's too easy to pick out in a video game and sounds generic. Never ever sounds like he's just the character, it always sounds like someone putting on some lame impression. Autists and zoomers seem to follow him wherever he goes, too. Matragrano's in furry porn VR games and now Roblox games. Considering those two don't tend to mix, I too get the feeling this is all about to blow up in a bad way.

Late, late reply but I agree. He doesn't really stand out with his voice direction. He's just a slightly less aggressive Gabriel if you hear the voice clearer. I think his design's alright but I knew from the voice and look alone that emotionally dysfunctional individuals on Twitter would slobber all over him. Unsurprisingly, Pressure garnered a fandom full of sensitive blokes that'd make Regretevator and Phighting's communities look tame in comparison. The people there all act and talk the same. Many of them are obvious Palestine grifters and they're all losing their mind that the developers dare to remind them that they shouldn't be touching a game that's meant to be some dark, subnautica-esque kind of game.

I still think making a toggle that kicks someone out of the server and reminding them that they shouldn't be playing a game that's going to trigger their Thalassophobia is a move more developers should do.

This is very much true, which is a shame when it’s considered that they’re by and large a vocal minority of the game’s playerbase, to the point that saner people replying to/QRTing Zeal have pointed that out themselves. Just look at the replies to him self-flagellating over the use of “schizo”, or “retard” if you look elsewhere in this apology chain. Look here, too, where literally every reply to this tweet is supportive of a (once again, clearly satirical) description for a purchasable jumpsuit. Or even here:


The vast majority of people—yes, even the garden variety faggots and psychos—do not give a fuck the way Zeal thinks they do. The vocal minority that does barely plays the game, and when they do they’re very often too stupid for shit like the basic pipe puzzles (and screech that they keep soft-locking on them, to boot).

He should have never capitulated to them. I’d wager he’ll be paying for the mistake of doing so for a long while.

It's incredibly funny to me that people who try to dress like "old roblox" try so hard to be retro it completely fails in it's objective to look like an avatar you'd find around the period.
The average noob avatar was as one of the images posted, a plain 1.0 with a few limb colors and usually a free or cheap hat, not even the R badge thing most of the time (though random t-shirts were quite common) and rarely more then a few cheap tix hats.
More affluent avatars often used 2.0 and used various clothing types that were trending (flame jackets, the DC thing or whatever it was, etc..) with a few hairpieces and usually some form of relatively normal looking hats, the occasional swordpack and such.
Problem with these actual old avatars from around 2012 is that they don't hold up all that well nowadays since that style has been refined into what is essentially the modern day UGC catalog with higher detail hair and accesories that make your avatar look more like.. well.. a person.

I remember there being a few themed avatars with whacky stuff like wizards and such but the overwhelming majority looked like what Jonas posted, at least after the 2010s.
Can't say for sure about before 2010 though, never played around then.

IMO I think Zeal and Zerum are being retarded regardless. They didn't have to add or remove things in their game to make a point to their playbase. It's YOUR game. You make it how you FEEL it should be and it shouldnt have to accommodate the entire playerbase who suffer from made up shit. If they didn't want people playing with phobias, The warnings when you start up should be enough. Still, it just goes to show how retarded people in the pressure fandom are for thinking they would be accommodate for their wittle fweewings.

Not that she isn’t being retarded (she is, she’s a self-shipper), but by Zeal’s own admission all she is is an idea-chucker and spell-checker. Her biggest development-related brag is pitching a few doodles in the way of designing a character that was the joint work of five(!) people.

It makes her even more retarded. All she had to do was not spill blood into the (figurative) water by having her marriage cemented as “canonical”. She brought it upon herself even more than Zeal, and she hasn’t done a tenth of the work.

I wish I had a solid answer for how long I've borne witness to it firsthand, but I couldn't tell you.

It was probably destined to happen at some point or another regardless. The common sentiment is that both Phighting! and Regretevator combined were/are huge catalysts for them being so pervasive and so aggressive (to give an idea, Phighting's AO3 submissions outnumber the general Roblox tag's by a considerable margin, and the fic content is overwhelmingly M/M), and to an extent I agree with it, but I do not agree that they were for sure patients zero and one for the issue.

At least part of the issue IME is that both of those communities—and, by proxy, any Roblox community that's swamped with yaoitards—have an extreme lean towards born-female 2D artists because the games have baked-in content that attracts them (lore to lorefag over, quirky inoffensive "soft boys" to swoon over, etc.), and in turn they slowly but surely overrun the joints and outright dominate them, even if the communities in question didn't start out that way.

Pressure's going through a similar arc no less in part because Zerum is friends with and Zeal is friends and a fellow dev alongside CaptainSpinxs of Midnight Horrors notoriety, and everything I have seen in that game's community space because of all that baked-in content and catering is being mirrored in Pressure's tenfold. The fanbase crossover with Regretevator made it all the worse. I think it would've been just as bad if Pressure's concurrent player numbers were as low as MH's, but it's extraordinary that it's happened to this extreme this quickly and over a singular character.

I think it's a sign of a broader social change over the last 10 years honestly. People just stopped having the license to bully the weird perverts and weebs that would have been bullied before, probably because everyone is corralled into tranny-controlled Discords so constantly that it's become the norm. At one point, people would bully you for posting about anime in public (even the ones that liked it) , let alone full-on fag shit, outside of dedicated communities because the pre-tranny world still had the concept of taboo and courtesy.
