A Pirate's Life, Call of Robloxia, Catalog Heaven, Contamination, Deathrun Classic, Galleons, etc etc. All certified hood classics that I spent every waking hour playing when they were active.

Catalog Heaven was the equivalent of crack cocaine to little ol' me. I loved that game. I checked back on it now and was saddened to see that it's in the lower double digits, along with a lot of other games from 2015/2016.

Solar Conquest, Crossroads, Soul Wars back when it lasted, Bridge sword fight where you actually spend most time fighting below the bridge, Miked Paintball which had a low player count but a continuous player-base filtering in and out and also Paintball Unleashed I believe it was called, but eventually became abandoned.
Also A Pirate's Life, it was always fun when enough players knew what they were doing, someone bought a ship and everyone decides to tag along, the enemy team has enough people doing the same and you have a big battle in the middle. Other times it's usually a one sided curb stomp where you run around their streets slaughtering everyone and draining their banks.
I remember a few ambitious games that weren't actually very good. They had their moment in the limelight but eventually fell to zero players in a couple years. Mainly there was a slime raising game and a dragon raising game that were detailed but actually rather piss easy to play with not much to replay. There was also Davidii's Survival 101, 202 and 303, the first one which notoriously required you to read a forum thread that contained a guide in the OP to understand how to play since it was made before GUIs. Someone forked 303 after it went uncopylocked to make an Apocalypse 101 survival game that I had some good times in whenever players were cooperative enough to form factions instead of just walling off all resources you need to get started and then hiding somewhere.

Seconded. Catalog Heaven was at its best when you'd throw together a bunch of script jank trying to kill people in the most effective way possible. Back then I remember I'd intentionally use gear most players ignored (because the rainbow carpet + instakill sword was boring as fuck) as a personal challenge. I ended up using a combination of Golden Fleece (a shittier flying tool), some mecha spider horde summoner, a HEX spitter, and the Chiefjustus Gavel because it gave you a jump that instakilled on landing. Dropping spiders from the sky, landing near someone, and then chasing them down with a giant fuckoff hammer was pure autistic kino for younger me.
Galleons was also great especially when you finally got to board the other ship and initiate a mass swordfight while both ships were actively sinking. Also worth mentioning: Kool Killer, The Labyrinth, Survival: Apocolypse, and all those Insert Wars games where you'd race to be first in the server to insert an admin orb and run wild with commands (until the server inevitably shut down). Great memories.
But aside from reminiscing about how fun ROBLOX used to be as a kid, is there hypothetically any way to make a kid-safe platform in modern day (post troon-demic, obviously) that wouldn't be shit up by predators? As much as I dislike how you need to fork over personal information to keep kids from being groomed, I can't think of an alternative that doesn't involve a hard stance against faggotry (in a way that'll get you deplatformed for sure) and requiring a parent to co-register alongside the kid.

There's kind of a way, but you're not gonna like it. You will have to likely use a dictionary system that makes it so you can only chat with words that are in your dictionary, which is hell for people who can't spell so you might want a spell check system just to crutch those people. No UGC for obvious reasons, player avatars will only be able to use official content. Similarly, usernames must also comply with your dictionary system (Is this Galaxeeds now? To be frank, I was inspired.).
It probably wouldn't make a very good ROBLOX-like brickgame because people will just build discord invite urls out of bricks and make sex minigames. You kind of have to just hope that the security measures make it so predators consider the platform hardly worth the trouble to try to creep on and go to easier targets like ROBLOX. Really it's kind of impossible to have a creativity-driven kid-safe platform these days because of all the fetishists and groomers.
You used to get banned for saying "Gay" on ROBLOX. Let THAT sink in.

Surprised nobody mentioned Cube Cavern or Build your own Mech. The latter (and many other old games) is now inaccessible because Roblox made all Filtering Disabled games friends-only and the developer just gave up on it. In the 2010s I could even call people niggers by substituting the Gs with Bs.
The easiest way would be to disable all forms of communication and user-made content. Anything short of that and pedophiles would just move children off-platform and groom them there. You also have to remember that the new Internet is much shittier than the old one. Discord didn't exist back then and personally I never heard of people trying to move from Roblox to Skype or TeamSpeak. I would only play Roblox with my friend from school.

UGC is still chock full of copywritten material who's owners I'm sure didn't agree to it, and we know Roblox cares a lot more about shutting that shit down to avoid legal fees than censoring what they deem inappropriate. Their moderation is just beyond incompetent at best before getting into it's potential maliciousness.

The worse thing about UGC for me is how easy it is to recreate rare/unavaliable items and pretty much spit in those items' face in terms of their legacy. I barely visit the marketplace since I don't plan to spend any money of the platform since young me already did that a lot but the first time I did visit, I was appalled that some niggers literally just made/replicated the Builders Club hats.

Roblox ignoring all the gooner and fag UGC shit that shouldn't belong is one thing, but the fact there is no concern over items that shouldn't even possible to obtain so easily really puts into perspective how little of a shit they truly give. I also watched this video (A) about old vs new Roblox and when he got to covering UGC, he showed Dominus's that would usually be sold for thousands of robux being sold only a hundred, only because you're able to get away with this shit. I think UGC is the worst thing to ever happen to this site.
Also, my account from 2016 with the OG Builders Club hardhat shouldn't be shat on like this.

Trading on Roblox in of itself is an entire shitshow and it really deserved the crash it suffered from UGC.
The items I find the most "appalling" (besides the obvious porn shit) are the items that are remade and advertised as something from a game, one of the main examples being Forsaken. There's a character named Guest 1337 and he wears the True Blue Hair which is a free item. But for only 65 Robux you can get the same hair but with a shitty cel-shaded style to it!

Good fucking times back then, where people just wanted to make the best games that they could and gamepasses were at most 500 robux to actually support the game and not the developers greed, I miss those days and the site is just promoting fuck ass money makers now.
