He's not gonna make any money with it, but I don't see his trying to be a bad thing. We don't know much about the things he gets into outside of Youtube. For all we know, streaming could be the least destructive of his hobbies. Dicksquad meltdowns aren't nearly as bad as DUIs or gas explosions.

Jace getting arrested for selling pot would be a bad thing. From what I understand him and Tyce deal from a McDonald's "pretty much 24/7" which probably means every other day and probably only in the afternoon. If Jace were to get arrested there's a good chance he might not be medicated and spout shit like "YOU WORK FOR AL-GAMERFOOD" or "YOU CAN'T DO THIS! I'M A WOUNDED VETERAN RETIRED MUHREEEEN RAPE SURVIVOR! FUCKING ISIS" and then proceed to shit himself as he assumes he's being driven to some kind of Muslim torture bunker.

I thought rob was a relatively reasonable guy. If he honestly thinks Jace has any chance at making a career out of this, I've been proven wrong.

Then again, this could easily be a tactic to get him to start being productive before trying to get him into branching out and doing other things. It could actually work, if that's the case.

Wow, really?

This video is interesting because it shows some behind the scenes shit going on in his life.

1) (Biggest item) Rob used to want Jace to stop streaming, but is actively encouraging the monetization of his YouTube channels now.
2) Jace shows mad respect for Rob.
3) Jace hints that he's on his medications again.
4) The entire video he's obviously very stressed.
5) He elaborates on how much effort he puts into his streams and his motivation for doing so.
It seems that Rob, on balance, is a positive influence then. If he's involved in him getting back on his meds (and that is conjecture on my part), it's worth him trying to get him to monetize the lulz he offers.

I was more interested in what was NOT said...

Through the intervention video there was a lack of talking about deagle nation or tyce or his other friends. Clearly Rob intervened over something, and I imagine Rob knows Tyce enough to know that if Jace said Tyce did most/all of the mess, that Rob might believe him (more than gail, anyway). I suspect from the lack of discussion about his deagle nation chums, that Rob's intervention was 'focus on your streaming, instead of this childish fantasy play-marine bullshit with your friends'.

At the end of the day, the 'concentrate on your streaming' has to mean 'instead of ...', because that's the only way it would make sense for Rob to intervene and bring that up.

Rob's intervention may also mean that Eli may get bailed out of Israel - assuming Jace told him about Eli.

Finally watched this video. Jace starts off in a humble tone, then turns into his narcissistic self and patronizes people for trolling him ("this video is a life lesson for you trolls" etc) but reverts back just before the end.

And then he goes off to smoke weed.
Rob, you missed a spot.

It's not that Rob is delusional or steering Jace in the wrong direction, it's that he's a civvie and doesn't understand the internet very well. My mother watched a local news fluff piece on "the new digital gold mine" that is Youtube paying you for content. She is now convinced every person who posts cat videos on youtube is making mad bank. Rob most likely sees his broken little brother doing something he sometimes enjoys and wants to push him towards being productive. So he says "monetize youtube", without understanding what that is, how its done, or how it won't work.

THIS.
I get the impression that Rob might have told Jace to give up the Future Marine bullshit and put more emphasis on the "gamer" label. Note how Jace is extremely emotional and stressed throughout the video - of course, you guys might not agree with me, but I reckon Jace might have been building up to throw his hands up and admit that he's mentally ill and not a Marine (cue lots of "Optimistic" ratings?). Instead of course he veered off and stroked his ego for a bit.
As for Rob encouraging Jace to livestream - I don't think Rob has actually watched Jace's streams. He has no idea how deep the rabbit-hole goes (this is also true for Eli - if Rob finds out, we can expect Eli home soon and Jace looking very, very stupid, but I get the impression this isn't the case).
Of course, it could well be that Jace was feeling weak after his chat with Rob and decided to fish for sympathy online, just like he did with the Hangover Vlogs. Jace's life only continued to get more hilarious and less predictable after that, and I can't help feeling this is nothing more serious than that half-assed attempt at begging for validation.

I rated your post optimistic for thinking you would get optimistic ratings.

I agree with all that shit though about Rob.

This whole thing reeks of Rob trying to re-direct Jace's energy in a useful direction. He's done some very effective strategies before; the "PRIVILEGE POINTS" system was his idea, and he quite ingeniously modeled it after a CoD-style progression system because he knows that sort of game appeals to Jace. While "Privelege Points" did not suddenly make Jace get a job and become a productive member of society, it gradually elevated him from shitting in a paint bucket as COMMANDER STRYKER to (recently) a state of lucidity that could be compared to a pre-Hater Hitlist Jace, like the Jace we saw in VLOG-ust. Rob understands Jace very well. It seems to me like we're starting small with this vlog, but I foresee two possible outcomes:
  • We began to see a more lucid Jace in the future.
  • Jace cracks under Rob's pressure and goes completely off his fucking rocker again.
Time will tell.

It's not that Rob is delusional or steering Jace in the wrong direction, it's that he's a civvie and doesn't understand the internet very well. While this may apply to others, Rob has demonstrated an incredible awareness of how the Internet works and how trolling works, to the point where he's tried very hard to keep himself out of the spotlight. See his whole "Jace isn't streaming anymore. Find someone else." tweet for a good example of that.

I think you're probably pretty close to the mark with this one, but at this point I just doubt Jace is capable of admitting that he isn't a Marine. He's tunneled so far into the fantasy that his entire identity is built on it now and if he gives that up it will be too much of a shock. However, Rob would be right to target the "Marine" bullshit: Jace's "gamer" persona really doesn't get him into much trouble, if any, at least compared to his "DUI street racer" and "MARINE" personas. His "Marine" persona is what leads him to believe he can literally kill anyone he wants, inspires him to go on "missions" involving running around his woods at 2 AM, etc... and no doubt contributes to many social issues he has. Truth be told, it's the source of many of his problems.

^^ Actually, he did admit that he wants to be a marine in the future in the recent Postal 2 Livestream.

>I am a Marine
>I'm a Future United States Marine
>I'm a retired wounded Marine veteran
>Wanting to enlist is basically the same as being in the Marines
>etc.

This guy has no perception of past, present, or future tense, does he? Amongst other things...

...up until an episode of Booster Busters happened.

He lives in the past, in the present and in the future. All at the same time.

I feel like I'm trying to reference something, but can't for the life of me figure it out.

Illuminatus! ?

On a not-so-joking note, Robert can't seriously think that Jace can draw a reasonable audience and monetize YouTube the way some people do. Has he even seen one of Jace's insane livestreams?

Um...Jace, sweetie, I don't think you can do both?
