Abortion is quite literally hanging on by a fucking thread here.

I don't think anything of any consequence is going to happen beyond a lot of crytyping.

This is how way too many women in the modern day operate. We've already had monumental chimp outs here on the site, and it becomes immediately obvious that these are whiny narcissists who can't do anything except sit around screaming and stamping their feet waiting for someone else to give them their way; I don't even think 9/10 of them give a shit about abortion, they're just throwing a fit because they're brats who are mad they aren't being pandered to.

It's almost a little sad to watch them do the "Well I'm not going to sleep with men anymore", grasping for any straw, slowly realizing they don't actually do anything for anyone else that they can withhold.
What they're going to do is impotently whine for a couple weeks, throw some temper tantrums online, then go back to doing what they're told to. This is what modern feminists wanted, for women to be infantalized, and infants don't get a say in big boy matters.

Well they aren't fat at least. I like to give people credit for that nowadays.
i’m kind of hoping that they will chimp out really fucking hard. it’s horrible optics for the democrats.

like we see all the calls for pipe bombing the SCOTUS. i don’t want to see any of those angels hurt but just an attempt would be a massive blow to the democrat party and would overshadow the already dim flame of the Jan 6 Hearings.

they have a point. so young zoomers and millennials simply not vote for socialist candidates out of fear of losing the democrat hold in congress? or maybe socialism truly doesn’t appeal to younger people.

🤔🤔🤔

i would also like to add this absolute lolcow from pennsylvania who is a democrat committee person and is absolutely SEETHING at the democrats. tears fell from my eyes when he mentioned mitch sitting in the capitol building.

When it finally settles down into being a state issue only, be prepared for the chimpouts when they start getting hit with the reversal of "But SHE crossed STATE LIIIINES! :story:"

I love how their solution to everything is domestic terrorism. This is half your country's brain on Narcissism.
It's hard to genuinely convince people opposed to abortion to reconsider. It's hard to campaign to get pro-abortion officials elected and pro-abortion laws passed, and even harder to build up enough support for a constitutional amendment.

Throwing tantrums is easy. They don't want to put in the work for what they believe in.

That said, the tantrums have been boring compared to the 2020 summer of love.

How exactly are Republicans making it worse? Because muh-rights-that-are-actually-wants?

excuse my ignorance as im not a burger

but couldnt the dems run on abortion rights in every state from the west coast to the east and just win power forever?

or is it actually the case that the pro life movement is actually a bit larger than the lefties like to admit?

If you ask "are you pro life or pro choice" the answers are about 55% pro-choice, 35% pro-life 15% neither. If you drill down into the actual policy and not the teams it changes. Support is about 50/50 at first trimester elective abortions (where much of europe is) and drops quickly from there. 35% want abortions at all times for any reason.
The Democrats just put forth a national bill where elective abortion would be legal until birth and allowed for sex selective abortion.
The general populace is closer to the Republicans, but the Dems have better PR.

On Monday a handful of women protested in front of our town hall and moved to the corner of a busy intersection. They weren't in the streets, just off in the parking lot of a Wendy's. It was funny cause the Wendys is pretty crap service, most locals know to avoid it, etc. Etc. So it looked like a bunch of fat women were protesting our local Wendy's for the bad food service they give.

It's a pretty close issue. A plurality of the national population supports the safe, legal, and rare argument, but quickly fall into the pro-life category when it's taken to the extremes. Since we're a republic, every state has their own opinion on the matter with much broader margins of support. California might go 80% pro-choice and Alabama might go 80% pro-life.

For the most part, people from Alabama don't give a shit what California's abortion laws are because California isn't Alabama. California despises the fact that they can't control Alabama's laws so they chimp out at the federal level and ruin it for everyone. It's a simple state's rights issue but unfortunately a shitload of people think they have the right to control the legislation in states 2500 miles (4023 km) away that they will never visit.

Edit- Non-Americans probably don't realize that we don't have federal murder laws. When you kill someone, you're tried at the state level under a state law established by the state legislature and governor. If convicted, you serve your time in a state prison and any restitution is payed to the victims and/or the state. You never hear them complain about that.
