Was pondering if the vaccine mandate did trigger the roe & wade overturing or have some influence in it. Because let use this logic if forcing vaccination on people and throwing the concept of body autonomy(my body my choice) at the windows in the sake of saving human life what it make any difference in banning abortion?

I was saying this back then - Roe is (was I guess) based on a right to medical privacy that was read into the 14th Amendment. Even Nancy Pelosi pointed out that the right to medical privacy prevented them from passing vaccine mandates early on in the pandemic. Most of the mandates were rolled back very quickly because they're retarded policies that kill jobs and businesses in a service economy, so the right didn't lose much by failing to strike them down - it was just retarded liberal cities shooting themselves in the foot and then meekly fishing the bullet out a few weeks later. The OSHA thing got struck down on the basis of 'OSHA doesn't have the power to do this', not medical privacy. If you were paying attention the writing was on the wall - the left cheered and hooted and hollered while the right to medical privacy was eviscerated across the country, then *suprised pikachu face* when Roe, which was based on that right, ends up being overturned.

Except that privacy right has never been held by the courts to apply to anything but abortion. Thomas even pointed out that, generally applied, it would make a right to prostitution and drugs (which I'm ok with, but that's beside the point)

excuse my ignorance as im not a burger

but couldnt the dems run on abortion rights in every state from the west coast to the east and just win power forever?

or is it actually the case that the pro life movement is actually a bit larger than the lefties like to admit?
Most people have much more important things to worry about than whether or not strangers they've never met are getting abortions and/or whether they might someday have to take a bus ride to another state if they ever need an abortion themselves. Everyone and their dog has a lukewarm opinion one way or the other, usually decided by whether they consider themselves "left" or "right", but when it comes down to issues that people actually care enough to change their votes over, the pro-life and pro-choice movements are both very small.

This will lose the Republicans some unreliable voters, but win them higher base turnout because they're seen to be getting stuff done, but in the end it's probably not enough to make a difference either way.

It's actually older than Roe, dates back to the case that allowed contraception iirc - Griswold v. Connecticut. You're definitely right that it was never consistently applied (because it was the legal version of slinging shit at the wall to see what would stick) but it lurked in the background as a card that the Justices could pull out of their sleeves, and that sort of thing influences lawmakers and other judges to sometimes ere on the side of caution. It's part of the reason why they were a bit trigger shy when it came to vaccine mandates, which they explicitly explained - Pelosi being the most famous example.

Not a chimpout per se, but who the fuck thinks this was a good idea to present to foreign tards who just want to read your fucking article.

lol this sub r/lostgeneration is a salt mine for sure. it’s a bunch of teen to late 20s socialist LARPing fag bitching about revolution constantly.

they have a point. so young zoomers and millennials simply not vote for socialist candidates out of fear of losing the democrat hold in congress? or maybe socialism truly doesn’t appeal to younger people.

🤔🤔🤔

i would also like to add this absolute lolcow from pennsylvania who is a democrat committee person and is absolutely SEETHING at the democrats. tears fell from my eyes when he mentioned mitch sitting in the capitol building.

So close, he's so close to realizing that the Democratic party has no intention of doing anything to help anyone but themselves get in power and stay in power.

I'd say it opened more people's eyes, but this kind of decision has been in the works for a longer time than that. The vaccine nonsense, even with how bad it was and is, still wouldn't directly change something like this so quickly.

Is he implying that he'd be 100% fine and dandy with someone killing their child for being gay, as long as they were in the womb? Is he sure he wants to follow that line of logic to its inevitable conclusion?

The left is universally assblasted to infinity and beyond, and as bad when Trump won in 2016.
Like I said in the other thread:

I think if the woke cult took over government entirely, the first things they'd do is change the Constitution so there's no freedom of speech or right to bear arms, abolish the Electoral College, and reduce or eliminate checks and balances so the Supreme Court is either abolished or can only make rulings subject to The Narrative™.

In other words, they'd likely make Our Democracy™ just like a one-party communist tyranny.

And like I said, I'm glad I don't really keep up with MSM news now. If it was full of BS hot takes before, it's likely a lot worse.

id like that. my doctor should be able to prescribe me testosterone and the government shouldn't have fuck all to do with it.

It won't be long before Red. Judy Chu will be bail out after she was arresting during the chimpout.

California Democrat Rep. Judy Chu was arrested by U.S. Capitol Police during a pro-choice protest for crowding, obstruction, or incommoding.

The department said that protesters blocked the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue beside both the Capitol and Supreme Court buildings. Capitol police arrested 181 people after giving multiple warnings to demonstrators.

“The decision to march today was easy—I came out to march for the young rape survivor, the woman who cannot afford to travel to another state to access critical care, the mother with an ectopic pregnancy whose life is in danger. I came out to march for all of us,” Chu said in a tweet following her arrest.

I think this goes here?

This Twitter user (archive) was very surprised to learn yesterday that yes, feds do know when you advocate burning government buildings and murdering government employees, and they don't like it!

The original tweet was in response to a video of Biden saying that people should be peaceful when protesting against Roe v. Wade being struck down.

Sounds kind of fake. I'd be more inclined to suspect they sent the letter themselves or someone fucking with them did.

Edit - the people replying are thick as fuck though "Why'd they do this and did nothing when my ex/some rando on social media/this personality I don't like did the same?" Because if it is true it was aimed at the government you idiots. Funny how you weren't crying "how can they legally do that?!" when the jackboots dropped on the Jan 6 lot.

I have no idea how trustworthy "The Dallas Morning News" is, but they seemed to have confirmed it: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/cri...n-who-posted-angry-tweets-after-roe-decision/
