What I find interesting is that as much as pro-aborts like to whine about "but wat if a girl was raped tho," they'd still whine about it even if abortion were only legal in those cases or when there's an actual health risk.

Which means that any woman seeking an abortion would have to come clean about the fact that she was raped, and the man who did it would almost certainly get busted for it, since the pregnancy is damning evidence that it happened. They could even pull DNA directly from the fetus to confirm it. Which leads you to wonder, why on earth would a leftist object to something that would make it easier for a woman to come clean about being raped?

Then you got the recent incident where a 10 year old girl SUPPOSEDLY traveled to another state to get an abortion, only for it to come out that the girl's mother, the quack doctor, AND the rapist in question were trying to cover the rape up.

They don't just want to kill babies, they also want to be able to rape women, even little girls, with impunity.

I know I sound like an alog, but these people really are fucking monsters.

I wonder this too. I'm not against a 10 year old rape victim getting an abortion a few weeks in. But they want abortion for anybody up to, and maybe even after, birth. It's psychotic. Plus now they are against pregnancy crisis centers that does everything to help the mother take care of their child, but not abortion. Somehow to them, that is a bad thing. How can you claim to be "pro-choice" if you are against the choice of following through with the pregnancy? These people just keep digging themselves deeper that the are nothing but ghouls.

I'm getting more convinced that the "pro-choice" movement is nothing but a huge national cope. If abortion is nothing to be ashamed of, people who regret their abortion shouldn't regret it but embrace it. One of those weirdos said something like, "abortion was the best choice of my life. I stand with people getting an abortion, had an abortion, or could need an abortion."

They needed a target they oppose that isn't well defended to physically attack. Since a lot of those crisis centers serve as alternatives to abortion (they will almost all try to give reasons why the mother should keep the child and why such is a viable alternative to abortion) the crazies raged at them.

Because, much like every other issue that side takes, for the extremists it's not actually enough to just have the choice or freedom, they believe that their views are the "morally correct" views, and so everyone must affirm them else they're immoral evil people who have no place in their utopia and must either toe the line or be expunged.

Those extreme voices end up being amplified via social media, said extremists going into teaching, and using psychology to shift the overton window for the non-extremists (largely due to our polarization - "the right is anti-x, and they're evil. You don't want to be evil like them, right, So you must stand against being anti-X in all forms or you're complicit with hatred and just as guilty as them"). And fairly quickly said extreme belief goes more mainstream with that whole side.

So for now, most of the pro-choice people don't actually have a problem with crisis centers. But within another few years we'll see more and more of the mainstream views change from that to "yeah those places need to go". There'll be more and more protests outside of them, and attacks on them will increase to try to run them out of town.

This is what a Christian sees (right) when we see articles like this. Its disgusting on a visceral level. Its why the divide is often so stark.

Once the child is born they still can't concede that killing is wrong. The "my body, my choice" and "violinist life support" rhetoric no longer applies at that point. It becomes all this nebulous bullshit about women needing to be free from the psychological burden of knowing the child is out there and...........????? They always trail off because even they know that opening that door is inviting in a parade of horrors worse than anything conjured by the worst genocidal maniacs in history. Because once it becomes of "I just need the peace of mind of knowing the child is not out there somewhere" where does it stop?

It's both hilarious and infuriating.

Hilarious, because people are turning against the Democrats and the woke leftists because they're such degenerates, and they're so out of touch that they think that doubling down on that degeneracy is how they win.

This is why I do not care about the abortion debate, at least as how it is being presented.

I have already said that I am pro-choice up until a point. I reject prima facie that life* begins at conception equally as I reject that abortion can be up until the moment or just moments after birth. Literally what the hell is wrong with these people? Sometimes we can debate policy using extremes as an analogy, but come on. Are we to suspend disbelief so much so that no one would have known there was a severe deformity? People can make that choice within 12 weeks, else STFU you murderer.

And a slight tangent. This super secret attitude, "It's a decision between a woman and her doctor. Respect her privacy!" Why? It's "just a medical procedure.", isn't it? Just like removing a tumor. No one is embarrassed or shamed of "medical procedures." They all know, deep down inside, that even though it can be a choice it is still a poor one.
 
I’d be really fine with the “medical privacy” argument if I could go to the Walgreens and say “I would like some chips, some diet pop, a cookie, some ephedrine, that grape codine syrup, and a vial of primo.” That would be actual medical privacy, actually your body your choice, but for some reason that only applies to an extremely specific circumstance.

that's not actually true. anything that happens after birth is not an abortion because you can't end a pregnancy that is already over. in a hypothetical situation where the mother takes one look at a healthy newborn and says "ugly eyes, fat nose. nah, I don't want it," the reality is that baby is going to be adopted, not tossed in a garbage can.

is talking about two different things. "in this particular example if a mother is in labor", that's a situation where there's something wrong and the baby isn't going to survive without an umbilical cord. the discussion between the doctors and the mother is about how long to keep the baby on life support, if at all, because it's not going to live longer than a few hours, maybe a day or two. that's not an abortion, and the governor fucked up by not making that distinction.

non-hypothetically, here's a NYT op-ed by an OB-GYN who's actually been in that situation: "I Didn't Kill My Baby". (auto-archived due to paywall). she was pregnant with triplets and her water broke at 22 weeks, which meant a less than one percent chance of survival for her sons. two of them did survive, one did not:

I can't imagine being raised by a mother who is nonchalant about the fact that she murdered your sibling(s) while they were still in the womb.

Even in the case of rape, I'd expect a mother to be shaken up by that decision if she didn't decide to carry to term, and not like talking about it.

At some subconscious level, I think it fucks kids up. Which is why I'm all for these harpies sterilizing themselves.

I don't fucking care if they regret tying their tubes later on, you get what you fucking deserve. You try to give mother nature the finger, she'll eat you alive.

If you ask pro-abortion people about this or claim that you're grateful to have a mother who didn't feel the way they do, you get to watch a human being justify their own mother killing them if they decided they wanted to and that there was a point in their own development that they weren't even a person that was worthy of life.

It really hammers home that the "clump of cells" argument isn't being made by moral people.
