Not exactly sure if he's salty about the movie or just taking advantage of the hype to promote his own political message, but there's evidently an alt-right troll/artist who is setting up fake Star Wars adverts in Hollywood.

I chuckled at this. It's stupid, but I appreciate the time and effort that went into that lol.

For a country that venerates it's ancestors, ghosts and depictions of zombies are naturally a very touchy thing. I don't see it as stupid at all.

The government protecting people's fee-fees by banning shit they could easily just choose not to see is always stupid as fuck.

It's like communism always creates think skinned nanny state ninnys

Why do I get the feeling that most of the spergs complaining don't legitimately care about Star Wars and are only doing this because it will get them attention? Like, how did they react to Lando in The Empire Strikes Back, or Mace Windu and Jango Fett in the prequels? Either way, I don't see the point of imposing real-world racial politics on a fictional universe, and they won't make a dent in this movie's box office haul. They could make a Star Wars movie directed by Uwe Boll, starring Kirk Cameron and Tommy Wiseau, and about Hitler buttfucking toddlers in space and it would still make an assload of money.

Also, obligatory Return of Kings article on the subject:

I unironically enjoy the first two prequels and I disliked the most recent Plinkett Star Wars review -- come at me, bro >:3
The most recent Plinkett Star Wars review was about TFA, not the prequels. Regardless of how you feel about TFA, that doesn't change the quality of the prequels. And regardless of how you feel about the prequels, the writing of those movies is objectively flawed. I think you'd be hardpressed to find people who want to see midichlorians brought up in Episode VIII, for example.

That guy just has a weird hateboner for RLM and it shows.

I know. I didn't like it. I thought Mike rambled too much and I didn't find it funny or insightful.

Eh, I have a lot of nostalgia for the first two prequels. I saw them as a fairly young kid and they were pretty entertaining. You've got to remember, those films were massively popular and the toys and games and books etc were as well with my generation.

Objectively, yeah, they were bad. But, honestly, I can think of many films that were as bad or worse that don't get the same scrutiny (the Harry Potter films, for example).

That guy just has a weird hateboner for RLM and it shows.
Can't argue with that.

The prequels have several entertaining set pieces and are perfectly fine as popcorn films. Beyond that though they are objectively terrible films. Attack of the Clones is probably the worst one of the bunch, with the entire middle act just being a huge slog to sit through. As a kid though I remember fucking loving Phantom Menace and thought Darth Marl was the coolest thing ever.

The parts with Obi-Wan, Jango Fett, and the clones were fun, at least. The cringeworthy "romance" between Anakin and Padme though, eeeeugh...

How to trigger the internet's most pathetic video game forum in one paragraph:

What the film really lacks is a strong and vigorous male lead (such as Han Solo or John Boyega's Finn in The Force Awakens) to balance more equally with Jyn and supply a sparring partner. None of the men here has real physical or vocal stature, nor any scenes in which they can decisively emerge from the pack in a way that engages audience enthusiasm. Both Luna and Ahmed have proved themselves repeatedly in big-screen and television performances, but their characters never pop here, to the film's detriment. And given that Jyn is rather less gung-ho and imposing than was Ridley's Rey, there's an overall feel of less physical capacity on the part of the main characters.

you fucking gotta be kidding me
What the fuck?
What a garbage viewpoint.
Seriously?!
What the hell?
lmao are you fuckin kidding me
Oh boy. It gets even better:

Apparently we need men to step forward to lead the pack otherwise we can't get enthusiastic.
a sexist trumpian mess
Bc 6 out of 8 SW movies having male leads isnt enough. What a joke.
What the hell is up with THR and this movie?
THR is embarrassing themselves with a review like that.
FOH with that shit, Hollywood Reporter.

Call me a cuck ball, but I couldn't give less of a shit if there's no male leads in a movie.
WTF this has to be a joke

I love Star Wars, but it looks like I'm going to have to get used to dealing with a giant vortex of :autism: every Christmas due to its presence.

I have a feeling that will get old after a few years. Then nobody will care about Star Wars.... I hope.

So nobody is pointing out the fact that the Rebel Alliance is sending a seemingly expendable crack team of minorities on a suicide mission?
