I've learned the hard way that close-minded artists will come up with any excuse under the sun to avoid receiving critique. I used to watch someone who would make up sicknesses and diseases to make people feel too sorry for her to give her criticism.

Granted, people called her out on her BS on the sicknesses, even her offline friends who honestly knew better.
