RPGnet Forums

RGNet is prime example of why you gatekeep the shit out of your hobby, otherwise the only way you'll remove folks like this is through melting your hobby down.

It's well known the mods at rpg forum often don't actually play rpg's, the pinacle of their damage is sheer quanitity of people who hate them and all those shitty woke games out at the moment which no one will remember in 5 years.

Came here to post that. That three month ban is absolutely getting upgraded to a permaban after a day or two, quote me on that. Mods should put their money where their mouth is and declare open season on cops like they did with ICE.

That whole thread is gold but I wanted to give a special shout out to Jim here for having the absolute balls to cheer on defunding and downsizing the police before then criticizing their response time:

When Orcs and Drow became short hand for black people, I thought we’d hit peak woke.

I was wrong. So wrong. So now we have the cloistered mods arguing that that cop shouldn’t have intervened when a mentally ill girl tried to stab a couple of randos. He literally got out of the car and had to make a decision in under ten seconds.

Maybe if he’d had more time, he could have resorted to a less than lethal solution but by his actions, he saved the life of one if not two other teenage girls. Fuck these people, that cop is a hero.

Yeaaaah, Human Target kinda... flamed out there.

Tanka is a colossal faggot though over that ban for Bookwrack. I'd be sorely tempted, if I was there, to file complaints that Tanka was promoting knife violence with his idiocy. Yeah, I know, wouldn't do a lick of good.

It looks like they painted their nails with cheap model or mini paints. The hue also brings to mind undead creatures. You know, things that should not be.

It's been two weeks since they locked this thread about anime discussion. Now, whether you're a total fuckin' weeb, or you hate anime with the passion of a thousand suns, I think we can all agree that as usual, RPGnet mods are faggots. My guess is that they still haven't been able to conjure up a way to get out of the hole they stepped in. Because technically, they violated their own guidelines when Bcaugust54 slapped dshaffer with an infraction.

My expectation is that they'll ignore it till Ultimate Chicken calls them out, they'll ban him and just say 'Meh'.

This shit looks craptastic.

I mean, there's plenty of room for changing how the limitations on cybernetics work -- I ran a homebrew once where your constitution score was your 'limit' for augmentations, reflecting how much stress your body could take. There was no 'cyberpsychosis' or whatnot.

The sad part is that the setting actually seems dope as hell -- a cyberpunk game set on a giant O'Neill cylinder in orbit? Sure, why not. But it's depressing to see, once again, 'rah rah capitalism bad -- but give me $30 for my PDF'. Such convictions, much wow.

The issue isn't asking that price for a pdf, there's games out there that are worth that price or even higher. The issue isn't even 'capitalism bad, but pay me money', since it's done by a small team and not a huge corporation. The issue is that Ettin is an insufferable cunt and utterly retarded and I wouldn't trust him to write setting for anything and neither would I trust the design skills of anyone who can stand working with him.

That's the ultimate cyberpunk.

"We here at GameCo believe that capitalism is bad! Play this game, and explore what anti-capitalism means while fighting against the forces of capitalism. For only 175 nuyen, you too can step into a world where you can be a chromed vigilante fighting against capitalism. For another 25 nuyen monthly you can get free updates, GameCo event passes, and even cosmetic items for your character. GAMECO! We build the VR worlds of tomorrow today." <plays jingle>

So someone goes full “Make games, Fight Capitalism” And then they defend the prices that they charge for because they’re a small team. That is the most ringing defense of capitalism that I can think of.

It’s almost like you need a return on the investment of resources that you put into something. And to do that, you need to rationally price it so that you can return that investment yet find a market willing to pay that price despite the content of that game specifically railing against this system.

In fact... it’s almost as if capitalism isn’t a system but the aggregate actions of people freely engaged in the trade of goods in order to maximize profit on said investments...
