To be fair to us, look at those shitheads. To be fair to the people at RPGNet, the almost entirely fictional people they've made up in their minds to judge themselves against are only almost entirely fictional, so there are, in fact, a few people who they hate based on who they are and what they do, rather than what RPGNet people have projected on to them. But yeah, don't judge yourself against random online shitheads because you'll always look amazing in comparison.
I would also say that we're far less sanctimonious about the judging we do here. It's explicitly laid out in some of the posts from the last couple of pages - they predominantly think they are Good and those who disagree with them are Evil, and that they are fighting the fight for Good by posting on a forum for playing pretend. Their moderation explicitly encourages that worldview, kicking out the unbelievers and ensuring only the most zealous survive. Predominantly here, people know that even if they're talking about shitheads doing shithead criminal things, if you're posting about it here you're not doing it to do Good, you're doing it to have fun and ridicule people, hardly the behaviour of the Righteous.
We're shitposting. That might not make us better than them, but I reckon it makes us more honest.
