the type of people who this kind of talk attracts would rather see Trump supporters shot than be allowed to express their opinions because "muh fascism".

No, these are the people who are cognizant that it looks really bad if they openly espouse violence, so will still claim that violence is bad! Except you'll see they give lifetime bans for Drumpf-lovers, and weeklong bans for people writing a paragraph about their desire to rape and murder a conservative. There is not any sort of real enforcement against violence, that just gets a slap on the wrist.

CrazyIvan has recently joined the mod team on RPGNet. Here comes the accusations of ableism.

It's a fucking doomed endevour. If you go back far enough, most of our derogatory language was once specifically something-ist. Ableist, racist, sexist, whatever. As soon as you clear one hurdle, someone is going to dig up a new one, until all you have left is a language with neutral and positive terminology.

Which is the end goal, I think. Control by linguistic manipulation. Of some people, in any event, probably not the RPG.net mods, who I think are more on the order of useful idiots than grand masterminds. They actually, surprisingly, made the correct call on this particular issue. Although I think it was more the thin purple line coming into play than any actual conviction, but I could be wrong. Zeea is not my first choice for a reasoned and considered response on anything, but it's what we have.

So they’re aware of how “ablest” spending all fucking day posting on a video game forum is, right?

So Newspeak then?

You can tell how poorly a forum's rules were thought out by how easy it is to concern troll, and how much any individual rule enforcement depends on the complaint being made in good faith.

I cannot imagine an effective way to concern troll here in a way to get moderator action on anyone except myself.

That's, of course, the issue with any system that says "Something is offensive and bad if someone is actually offended by it". There's no way to enforce that except completely arbitrarily, even if you were interested in being as fair as possible.
