He’s a chill dude who is a big Mythras RPG supporter (not an employee of that game company or anything). Has a podcast about the game too. I just never expected that he above all people who get the ban hammer from the wannabe KGB.

I remember when things were relatively sane and normal and if some douchebag like this showed up in a game and started killing fun for everyone, we'd just call them a retard and throw them the fuck out, then bully them in school from then on.

You gotta remember how long it's been around. It goes back to the late 90s. It's an institution at this point, although a rotten and contemptible one.

It used to be a decent site. I actually wrote some reviews for it back in the day, like 20 years ago. Something that would doubtless horrify the current jannies, as it's a site with a sturdy foundation, but all the recent floors have been built from jizzy socks and dilators.

I recently noted in the Tabletop general thread that a lot of the Something Awful reviews on Fatal and Friends these days would get users banned from the forums. The same is true on RPG.net. Hell if FATAL itself was written from a more pro-current stuff background right now it would probably mean the review for it on RPG.net would be removed because "it's anti-Nazi and therefore good!"

It appears to get about 100 posts a month. So much less active than the tradgames industry thread for complaining about problematic creators.

There is nothing worth preserving beyond 2005 or so. It is just a festering heap of rot, one layer on top of the other.

I think SA's game forum is just a bunch of trannies dilating angrily at this point, not that it was ever good. There is nothing on SA worth preserving beyond 2005 or so either.

I usually just read the completed ones. From what the poster above said that gets some posts but it feels like a long while since new reviews appeared on the site that collects them without the surrounding posts. Might be that whoever or whatever fed them through to there has gone.

I suspect the new member influx comes with RPGs getting an uptick thanks to Critical Role. For better or for worse.
