RPG.net is truly becoming Groucho Marx’s club writ large, the one that nobody wants to join because it only accepts people like them as members.
When even the censorious leftists chafe at the level of punishment for wrongthink you have to wonder.

Gender is a spectrum but politics is not. You're either a Good Ally or Hitler.

"It was clear from the beginning the Cass report was a hit job". :story:
Not a Br*toid but from my understanding that report was the mildest possible criticism of current "gender affirming" medical practices and was basically "Hey maybe we should explore other options before shoving mentally ill eleven year olds under the knife."

There's so little to say about RPG net at this point -- every time the thread updates I nurse a sickened hope that the whole goddamn thing has finally shut down -- but I will observe that, in defiance of all logic, the reasons for bans continue to get stupider and stupider.

That's the thing about terminal-stage purity spiral. The conversation eventually devolves down to acting like a broken record, everyone repeats the same points over and over and over and over again until someone deviates and wham, that's a ban for anyone daring to introduce ideas outside the incredibly insular norm. Eventually, the whole thing dies either because the place runs out of people who can even bother to make any posts or the place simply runs out of money because there is only so many people willing to put up any resources to upkeep a ghost town full of paranoid shrieking banshees.

Filostrato felt his companions forcing his body forwards, then up again, then forwards and downwards a second time. He was compelled to bob up and down in rhythmic obeisance, the others meanwhile doing the same. Almost the last thing he saw on earth was the skinny folds on Wither’s neck shaking like the wattles of a turkey-cock. Almost the last thing he heard was Wither beginning to chant. Then Straik joined in. Then, horribly, he found he was singing himself—

“ Ouroborindra I Ouroborindra I Ouroborindra ba-ba-hee ! ’’

But not for long. ‘‘ Another,” said the voice, give me another head.” Filostrato knew at once why they were forcing him to a certain place in the wall. -That Hideous Strength by CS Lewis

If you look at the "Starting Gate" subforum where new members are supposed to introduce themselves and dip a toe in the community they've had:
77 threads started by new members in 2025 so far*
Of those 77:
13 have logged in to the forum in the past 30 days (not counting new members that registered in the past month)
9 have posted more than 30 times (removes the "new member" tag on their account, allowing them to view and post in Tangency)
Oh, and 3 have already been banned

*obviously not every new member that registers is going to make an introductory thread but this is an easy to track metric

Don't forget accounting to people who are just reregs of those who have been previously banned, only coming back with a new username and e-mail address. Disease and age culls more than they could conceivably get organically.

No, it's quite simple, the RPGnet moderators are focused primarily on one thing: sucking the girldicks of their child-raping industry friends, who are themselves rightly concerned that their talentless hack asses are going to be replaced at any moment with ChatGPT. Therefore, AI is evil and must never be praised on the forums. As long as you realize that their mod staff is obsessed with clout-chasing the "famous" people in the community, it makes plenty of sense.

Mr. President, you'd better take a look at this.

ICE's days are numbered, y'all.
(Not pictured, a thread on suggestions for immigration reform which, unsurprisingly, boiled down to "anyone should be able to enter the country at any time, for any reason, for any duration, at any location")

Another "longtime poster" has died:

Who hadn't logged in for seven years. 🤔

Poster gets radicalized by his Turk wife into genocide denial, gets permabanned (technically his second permaban so he's gone for good)

Pawsplay gets an ultimatum which his autistic ass is 100% going to ignore. Gonna miss this guy when he's gone. 🧩

Most of the Minnosota ICE thread could be replicated by a current LLM, but I wanted to highlight this bit:

The endorsement makes lots of sense. RPGNet's user base is a strong match for the panicky, aging white libs who do most of the Minnesota protesting. When you look at RPGNet, you are looking at what people like Will Stancil are thinking (although they are a generation older). When you look at the protest crowds, you are looking at people who look and talk like Tangency. They are the same picture.

Moritz is a classic circular firing squad case, but his ban also shows he was not one of the Minnesotan shitlibs who thrive on the site. Sure, he was fanatically committed to the cause, but he failed to couch his lib rage in the "fake nice" style educated leftists use, and he ended up walking through the ideological tripwires. This seems common with German posters: just too autistic to keep their heads down. He got culled, and I bet he doesn't even understand why it happened to him.

Mfw I join a site for roleplaying when I just roleplay as myself (but as a horny woman) in every scenario in every place while all thinking identically to avoid being genociding nazis

Darren MacLennan presumably still does the same thing i.e. contemplates his divinity as a member of the inner circle of mods while working as a fucking college librarian irl, but what happened to Jason Sartin? Dude had a very hyperbolic writing style that made him come off as a sped, but was very entertaining. Tried to google him at different points and no dice.

Found this from a few years ago in this thread, sadly no links to an RPGnet ban notice. What was his user name?
