Fuck me. Sorry for the wall of text.
No worries, that was an interesting read. I'd be interested if I also didn't have another issue with the game, which is either my internet getting shittier in the past decade since I've last played or the server tick rate being reduced making every input feel "sticky" and unresponsive. Particularly switching prayers.
Plus I'm not grinding up another 130 million for a bond again.

>working, need some background music
>put on a random rs3 playlist
>get to the elder god wars dungeon music
>it's all good shit to the point where I genuinely want to go and play the game so that I can get the context of the music ingame
Fuck you Jagex, your tricks won't work on me.
Hypothetically speaking, is there a private server for RS3 so that if I hypothetically wanted to play the game I wouldn't need to sweat xp grinds or grinding for bond money? Yes I am hypothetically stubborn to not want to hypothetically pay the money for it.

RS3 is already a very niche game. If there's a private server, I haven't heard of it. The Cursed Warrior and The Glory of Combat are two of my favorite tracks from RS3 though. RS3 became a lot less interesting after the Elder God Wars ended.

While those two tracks are excellent I actually really like Lullaby for an Elder God.
It's very nice music and I assume it was the login music for the quest/dungeon's/whatever it is' release, would have been great to hear.

Every so often I wonder if I should just suck it up and get back into RuneScape again, I played that all the damn time as a kid. Then I'll see some new stupid woke bullshit they've shoved into the game and my desire is stomped out. The game will fucking die off permanently before it goes back to being normal again, I figure.

You aren't missing out on much. The woke shit has been increasingly getting worse in both versions of the game.

I'm aware of Ataraxia (ext. link), though I've no interest in playing it.

Archaeology dungeons have zero business having such great OSTs.

Edit: Fellas, I have a question. What should be the minimum gear/stats for elite dungeon? With melee 75s, bandos and a godsword I can't even finish a single room of the Temple of Weebshit, the first combat encounter wipes in Dragonkin and Zamorakian undercity and the shadow reef doesn't seem to drop anything to be worth it.

The whole fifth/sixth age split deal seems weird.

It's been in the back of my mind considering there's a cancer from hell just hanging out in the lumbridge swamp and apparently bandos' corpse just lying around next to the goblin stronghold but currently going through The Dig Site and they're bringing up Zaros as a new and unknown God when there's an embassy member just lying around in Varrock next to a major bank and there's at least one major archaeology site dedicated to the Zarosian empire I've been digging through for the past 60 archaeology levels. I would have hoped they'd at least re-write some of the dialog to reflect this.

Edit: Wow, Death to the Dorgeshun is pretty on the nose.

Started archaeology hoping to rush 68 for ancient summoning and a mid combat money maker so that I can stop sweating the bond money grind
Ended up really liking the lore pages and the puzzles of the mysteries.

On the plus side, 3 levels to go.

The dream is dead. Much like the last time I grinded out a bond in f2p I got 7 days in membership and burned out. I think it was the "cute dying dog noise" of hellhounds that did it for me and not the idea of afking arch glacor for hours to get blue charms in order to create binding contracts.

I really want to stick with it but at the same time I'm not a 12 year old with no responsibilities anymore and I can't spend my entire waking day on it. Some of what I played seemed really nice though, those elite dungeons would have blown my cock off if it were there back then.

Phone posting zzz

Lv. 70 gear/stats can work. Hits don't miss anymore, so you'd probably be fine. Could also grind a couple levels and pick up some cheap t80 weps. Royal cbow's 500k or less. Or grind gwd2 bosses for weps/gp. Virtus weps shouldn't be too expensive. Your gear options open up a lot from levels 80-90.

I wouldn't recommend melee to learn Aminishi, or any of the EDs for that matter. The mobs and bosses are notoriously unforgiving to melee-ers. Magic will probably be safest, followed by ranged or necro. You'd want good range to deal with stuff at a distance. Stun mobs lots.

I would've suggested trying Dragonkin Lab as it's easiest, but that first boss can be a menace when starting out. It's a breeze after that.
Old strat I used:
Stand in melee distance along the long wall between two quadrants, and place your sunshine/ds here. When the pulse star spawns, take it down with thresholds or specs.

The spiral should spawn where you started the fight between the quadrants by the long wall in MD of the boss. Move back a few steps so you don't take dmg from it. The neutron star should get swallowed without exploding this way. When it does, step in the white spiral and do lots of dmg. When the white spiral disappears, move back to MD to prepare for the next round.

Just be mindful of protection prayers in MD. He can still magic attack you, so be prepared to eat/flick/use a defensive.
Something like that, probably.

I don't recommend trying Zam yet. You will die, lots.

Bond grinds ruin the game for me. Same with WoW tokens. If you can comfortably afford it paying them is better in the long run if you value fun and your sanity.

The Runescape Showdown, an RS3 counterpart to Soup's Glienor games(an RS rip off of Survivor, basically) has started with the first episode being Hide and Seek.

Seems to rely a lot more on flashy editing but my initial worries of the cast being charisma vacuums aren't really going away. It feels like an entire cast of Verfs and the one token woman and the other token guy with extremely infuriating gay lisp.

I have been accumulating soundtracks from all my favorite games and this shit infuriates me. What kind of scam is this? Final Fantasy and their fuck up of a playlist is next.
The website sounds like a scam but Khinsider had the best quality(was still mp3) of the entire RS3 soundtrack and is often my go to whenever Soulseek fails.

Combat achievement preview is up, and the rewards are certainly enticing. You get points based on the tier of achievement you complete (one point for easy up through six for grandmaster), and as you reach thresholds, you unlock permanent passive bossing benefits. The thresholds roughly correspond to completing all the easy, medium, hard, and elite achievements, though you can slip some master and grandmaster achievements in there too and skip some of the lower ones.

Quick summary of rewards:
  • Reaper's Choice has an increased chance to activate: per tier, 5%/10%/25%/guaranteed
  • Increased Marks of War earned: per tier, 5%/10%/25%/50%
  • Free boss portal attunements daily: one for tier 1, two for tier 2
  • Increased hourly cap for Marks of War: 500 for tier 3, 1000 for tier 4
  • Tier 1 benefits:
    • Quick access to central sarcophagus in the Barrows (not specified whether it means no puzzle, all doors unlocked, or you teleport to the end room)
  • Tier 2 benefits:
    • GWD1 bosses no longer require killcount (excluding Nex)
    • 50% reduction in GWD2 boss killcount (stacking additively with rep rewards, meaning no killcount if you've done the rep grind)
    • 50% reduction in Sign of Life cooldown
  • Tier 3 benefits:
    • Ability to choose rotation for Barrows: Rise of the Six and Araxxi
    • War's Grimoire (new unlock at War's Retreat for 750 boss kills) will allow you to change prayer book in addition to spellbook
  • Tier 4 benefits:
    • Ability to choose rotation for Vorago
    • Adrenaline crystals regen 100% adrenaline instantly (instead of 25% at a time)
    • A one-time reward of a free costless ancient weapon and armor gizmo
Completing all achievements in a tier will also unlock cosmetic rewards. Easy through elite tiers give a cosmetic necklace in different colors, while master and grandmaster tiers additionally grant an aura and chat badge.

Bossing is one of the most prominent groups in the RS3 community, and this update looks to be right up their alley. The rewards don't really increase power, but they do make it easier to tackle specific achievements or improve quality of life (how long have people been asking for a removal of GWD2 killcount?), while still being a suitable challenge to unlock. I'm not a skilled at bossing, but I may have to wade into it some more now.
